Vicks Waterless Menthol Vaporizer for Adults, 5 Pads

This is big! This is the model that sits on a table, not the one that plugs directly into the wall outlet. I just got it in the mail today and I am surprised at how big it is. It is 5 inches by 5 inches, easily. It comes with these little medicated pads that feel dry but that give off this very strong scent if you turn the machine on high. I did, and I had to turn it down, because I found the smell too overpowering. I tested it this way because several people said they had a hard time smelling the scent. They must have had a bad cold at the time because I had no problem at all. Also, even though they tell you not to, you can use the pads that come with it again and again instead of buying expensive replacement pads, just refresh them with a few drops of essential oil. I bought a bottle of pure menthol and eucalyptus essential oil blend (with nothing else added)for this reason. And because I do not care very much for the smell of the pads that came with the machine (it is a slightly different blend), I put a couple of drops of the menthol eucalyptus blend right on the pad that is in the machine now.It is strong enough that I can smell it even in the next room. As you can use any essential oils you want for different scents, in these machines, I also bought some empty pads from the vapor-eze website, as it is cheaper than anyplace else I have seen. These too can be used again and again. This way I can switch pads and switch scents (the smell of the oil stays in the pads so you should only use a pad for one oil or oil blend). You are not supposed to touch any essential oils but you only dab a few drops on a pad and you never touch the oil at all, so it is no problem. This is a nice, cheap, aromatherapy machine. You do not have to use the pads that come with it and you do not have to buy expensive replacement pads. I am only sorry I did not buy it sooner as I have been struggling with walking pneumonia for nearly a month and am almost over it now. The machine could have helped a lot. By me, it is not sold in any brick and mortar store, so I finally took a chance and bought it sight unseen online. I am glad I did.

We needed the vapor therapy but can't tolerate the wetness of a humidifier. This was the perfect solution. I am well pleased with the results. The vaporizer is small and easy to use in any room. The only thing I would change, I'd like it to have an off/on switch.

I like that there is no steam to burn yourself on and that it doesn't make noises like the ones that take water do. It works well, the vapors fill one whole room 12x12 ish. I use the vaposteam liquid to moisten the pads and it does great. Wish I had bought this sooner!

I was sent the vicks waterless vaporizer by my mother who thought it may help with my headaches. It arrived in great condition and the packaging was solid. It even came with a small package of the vapor inserts which was handy. Eager to give it a try I set in an insert and plugged it in .... and waited. At first I figured I was in two big of a room to be able to notice anything. As I moved to unplug it I noticed that the vapor insert had shifted somehow (even though I hadn't moved it) and was no longer sitting over the heating vent. After readjusting it I was able to notice a very faint smell from the insert. Even after moving it to a much smaller room I could barely smell anything / notice any difference. My husband and I still use it, especially while traveling, but have learned that we need to place it very (I mean extremely) close to were we are sitting. (it worked wonders for him while we were on vacation and he caught a cold - just kept it on the nightstand next to his pillow) Great idea. Easy to use (just make sure the vapor insert stays in place - on ours it likes to slide around with any subtle bump) and very handy for travel. For around the house though I would recommend a full size vaporizer.

First of all, the description clearly states that you can set it between 3 different intensity levels. That is not the case for the model I received. There are absolutely no buttons or tsbs anywhere to select intensity level. The inside of what I received looks different than the picture. It can hold 2 pads at once. Second, my husband and I can barely smell it when it's on. It does nothing. Third, the light is incredibly bright and obnoxious. There's no good way to block the light. We put a giant piece of duck tape to block out the light, but the way the light bulb sits in the unit, it's impossible. Fourth, there is no on/off button, so you have to plug and unplug it each time, which in my case is not doable because my power strip sits in a difficult spot to reach. Useless product.

This is great because you can move from room to room no water mess. Kept next to me. Easy travel.

Product works, but the night light aspect is WAY too bright. I should have saved the packaging and sent the unit back, but I threw it out in a covid haze. Good news is the inserts fit an older Vicks plug in I found in the back of a closet. Looks like I have another item for Goodwill.

This works so much better than the wall plug in ones that look like night lights. With those you are limited where you can place it with straight plug into the outlet. With the cord it allows you to move it around and even put it on the headboard.

Came quickly from Hawaii to Japan. Comes with a few pads already. Nice Vicks smell without the windows being fogged up.

Love this product. Love that I do not have to put water in as I am retired and find it hard to carry a vaporizer that has water. Advise elderly people to purchase.
