Yes you can get some very slow tracking motionbut are use a camcorder that records timelapse directly. Or an Osmo which does the same

Not true. I am amazed at how quiet mine is. Very impressed and happy with it.

Q: Is the motor system programmed by the app, or does the app need constant communication to drive motor?

Constant communication is required to start or stop the motion, however if you set your end points (A-B) and motor speed then you can play it to loop and the motor will keep going back and forth infinitely on its own, to stop it then you will need the app again. Hope this helps.

All sliders with a central rail can be adjusted to keep the item in focus it's called a Parallex shot. If you've got any intention whatsoever of using this for interviews avoid it at all costs go for the GVM one which is silent by comparison, which is exactly what I did very happy with a great piece of kit although it's a little bit more money. Like most things in life he gets what you pay for. Hope that makes sense. Also the GBM has a dedicated hardwired remote control very easy to use and program. Also it has a permanently attached belt so works like a conveyor belt with the motor at the far end hence hardly any discernible noise hope that helps. Enjoy I went with the GBM after literally months of research because there is so little helpful information out there so I hope this is useful to you
