Premier Gear PG-8292 Alternator
OK, took it out the box did spin test. Felt and heard very slight rubbing at a certain spot of rotation. Probably something .002" too close. Installed it anyway. Notice that it charges lower than my two now broken rebuilds at idle and with lights and AC on. My rebuilds failed because slip rings are worn past brass. Will put new stator in both and have two spares. Expected charging to be as good as my two rebuilds, a little disappointed. It's OK, was just expecting more. UPDATE 01/28/2018. After a couple of thousand miles noticed it charges really well now. Also had a power steering line failure and used real thick P.S. fluid before changing back to normal fluid. That could have caused lower charging also, soooooooo. . Yeah. Works really well.

Going strong for over a year now
I purchased this alternator for 2003 Tahoe. Fit great and has been working like new for well over a year now. No whining or strange noises. Consistent voltage reading always. Do not hesitate, just buy it!

Good value, but caused me to buy larger belt
Vehicle in question: 2000 GMC Sierra, V6, AC, PS. 225K milesInstalled and ran for 10 minutes so far:The good:High quality look and feel, quiet sounding or at least nothing objectionable.Specs look very good so if they are correct then it should work fine. The bad:I had to get a larger belt even though the pully looks the same there must be something different in the location of the pully center.Old belt was PK2415 (2455mm long)I needed PK2455 (About 1.5" longer) .Without the added length it would not fit and there would be no tensioner room for movement. Extra 1.5" put the idler in the right spot. I rev'd the engine etc and it was fine. Got the belt at Autozone for about $35. Would have tried Amazon if I new for sure what size I needed. I estimated 2465mm but took home 3 belts 2465, 2455, 2440 - just in case. Glad I did as the 2455 fit better and I'll return the others.I dont know if your experience will be the same as mine, maybe this alternator was changed once and the belt was undersized?. Or a mid-year GMC change in idler or tensioner pully diameters?? Cant say.I kept the old alternator and belt in case I scrap this truck someday and might want to take the alternator and belt off. I only put about 1K miles a year on this truck and it's on borrowed time with only 1st and 2nd working on the automatic transmission. Has been great truck but tick tick tick...

Didn't work
We installed this Alternator and it didn't work. It should have given me a clue when I saw the craftsmanship.

Still working great after about a year.
I bought this because my truck wasn't able to keep when I was running my plow, amp or OBA. Easy install, the instructions provide the belt size for people like me who had the 105 amp alternator and they also provide a printout of the bench results showing the alternator produces the advertised power and at what rpm. The best part is it's way cheaper than buying one from the dealer or auto parts stores.

The best !!
Keeping it short and simple, I replaced the same alternator in 3 different truck (2 suburban and now Avalanche) and it works 100% better than the factory. By far the best alternator I purchased and noticed the difference every time. Old batteries in the last 2 trucks last alot longer. Make sure it fits your vehicle, simple as that.

Connector is wrong for an '04 5.3, despite Amazon saying, "This Fits..."
Looked fine, new, as-advertised, but despite Amazon's part checked saying, "This fits...," it does not fit a 2004 5.3 in a silverado. Look at the connector, it's noticeably small and only two pins. The photo for this alternator shows the correct connector (long, flat, 4-pin conn). So..., the photo for this is correct, but what came isn't. Funny thing is, the alternator that came is a more costly one than the one pictured.Anyway, if you have a small, oval conn like this pics I've posted of what came, you're good to go and got a helluva deal. If your Chevy has the longer, flat, 4-pin conn (but likely only two conductors/wires), then skip this, you'll just be sending it back...

you may need a longer belt if your stock alt is a lower amperage
It works good, no issues after 1 month. It is larger in size than the stock one on my 05 Duramax, I had to buy a longer serpentine belt

Fast Arrival, Higher Amperage for a Reasonable Price!
I loved how fast it arrived! Very reasonable pricing for comparable products but the higher amperage at the similar price sealed the deal. Was a fast and easy install even for a amateur woman such as myself.Thank you for the perfect product and price!
