Worked well for cosplay; probably work well for intended purpose
Much as I'd love to have an actual British Martini-Henry from the era, I actually bought this for a Steampunk Mad Scientist cosplay. Given that it's from the Victorian era, it was well-suited. I put test tubes filled with various colored liquids (juices, Diet Mountain Dew...), and threw it over my lab coat. It worked very well for that purpose. I think it would more than adequately fulfill its original mission as a cartridge carrier, assuming you're shooting something about the same diameter as the original Martini-Henry. I don't have a rifle of sufficient caliber to use it for that - .30-06 is the biggest I've got. I have .40+ caliber pistol ammo, but I think the cartridges would be too short to work well. Best choice would be a rimmed cartridge, as the loops are open at the bottom. As for durability, well, it held up to my abuse of it at Phoenix Comic Fest. If a reproduction was made to fit a caliber I have, I'd probably buy one. Oh - the loop that is supposed to fit on the military belt - I wasn't wearing a belt. I attached a Czech Army surplus map case to it - made it easier to get to money and ID and stuff, provided enough weight to help hold the bandolier in place, and, being brown leather, looked like it belonged there.

Not the best for broad shouldered dudes.
So I purchased this for a Nathan Drake cosplay and I had to almost immediately alter it. Out of the package it is EXTREMELY short so unless you're built like a twig you're going to need to extend the bandolier. I'm pretty broad shouldered (much like Nate himself) and this barely fit across my chest. It was actually comically small. Now despite that it's actually really well made which is why its getting 4 stars. Once I extended it with a couple pieces of scrap leather it was perfect and looked amazing. Just know that if you buy this unless you're built like Tom Holland's version of Nate you may need to alter it by sewing on an extra few inches of scrap leather.

Description says “Complete with loop to secure bandolier to belt” along with photos showing the the loop. Brand new out of the box this piece was missing 👎 for the price I was expecting to have a complete bandolier

Missing bit
The belt itself is of excellent make and quality, perfect for both cosplay and historical reenactment of the period. It did not smell out of the box. The dye and color was uniform. Overall, a great belt.Except for the missing strap. According to both the item photos and it’s description, it’s supposed to come with a tie down strap so you can secure it to your waist belt; this keeps the cartridge belt from shifting and riding up under your left arm. The ring holder is there for the strap, but the strap and it’s buckle were not in the packaging. It’s an easy enough part to figure out a substitute for, but a hassle all the same.

Great for Tusken Raiders!
Picked one of these up for a Tusken Raider costume. Excellent film-accurate reproduction in sturdy leather. Looks brand new, no storage gunk on the hardware or anything.Wraps more than all the way around me diagonally on a middle adjustment hole. I'm an average build 6'1" guy. Could be adjusted more either way. This looks excellent and I'm going to feel bad weathering it.Shouldn't have any problem being 501st or Rebel Legion approved.Only "con" I can think of is that the only thing this can store would be bullets but that is the item's intended purpose.Highly recommended for film accurate costuming.

Great Ammo Belt to dye and finish to Ur liking
I was looking at leather items on Amazon for the purposes of completing a Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Weird War outfit and this was just the thing as there was a lot of work to make a piece like this and I wanted it ready to go and not make it myself. It did arrive smelling a little musty (nude) natural color leather (I believe it to be of cow hide around 5 oz. thick) the grain is very smooth. I am a leatherworker and so this was perfect for me because once I clean it, I will dye and finish it and polish the brass a little myself to match my other red/brown leathers so for me that was a bonus. I give it 4 of 5 stars because of the slight musty smell and fact that I will have to work on it myself before it can be used. In any case, I am happy with my order and would order from this seller again. Hope this helped
