Ozark Trail 26-Quart High-Performance Cooler (Blue)

I am astounded by the abilities this cooler has when it comes to keeping things insulated. I bought it to use on short 2-3 camping trips with my son and it's been wonderful. I love everything about it. It's a bit small but if you need a high-quality cooler that will keep things ice cold for days, get this. I also bought some special chemical freezer bags that I used with this (vs ice) and have had great results with that as well.

It is not what I expected, did camping Saturday to Sunday on the beach. It kept the things cold, but Sunday the ice had melted quite a bit. do not keep the ice for 4 days as they says.

Top item: great cooler but no drain plug. This one is best suited to refreezeable ice packs because ice will slowly melt and you can’t drain it off without tipping the box.Great portable fridge if you do have the mentioned ice packs. Well enough insulated to keep things cold for 3 days with less space for ice and more space for food. Small but efficient. To get the best performance, pre-chill your cooler with ice before loading. We empty our ice maker bin into it and add extra ice packs we won’t use this trip and leave it to chill for a few hours.Then a quick empty, towel dry and load with ice packs on top. For extra cooling, freeze some of your water bottles before your trip and layer them in with your other food.Great construction with user-replaceable rubber latches and a strong steel padlock hasp/bottle opener. 4 molded in tie down slots allow you to mount the cooler in your boat or truck and open/close it without undoing the mounts.This is as well insulated as a Yeti, but the lack of a drain plug means you want it nice and cold before you seal it. More than one user found out the hard way that partially filling this thing and then sealing it shut achieved a perfect vacuum lock as the air inside cooled and contracted, and they couldn’t open their cooler until the contents warmed up again. If you know this going in, it’s easy to prevent. But the similarly sized and priced “Reyleo” cooler has similar performance and a drain plug that will release vacuum lock.But it is just as tough as a Yeti and the amount of quality and insulation you get for the price makes this box well worth buying if the size and features meet your needs.Obviously if you use ice you’re going to need a drain plug. Don’t even think of getting this to use with regular ice. You’ll hate it.But if you have reusable ice packs this thing gives you Yeti looks, Yeti durability and near Yeti performance for a fraction of Yeti pricing.I bought mine off the Walmart clearance shelf for $45. I have a similar sized Yeti and this thing holds ice just as long or longer. If it had a drain plug I’d score it a winner over the Yeti. On value it destroys the $200 Yeti. But that absent drain plug in a cooler built for an airtight seal is a severe design flaw you must plan for and mitigate to avoid locking yourself out of your food box.

Dislike the lack of drainage. This cooler is useless after a day not being able to drain off the water.

Coolers good, hardware came loose quick. Advise to check it before use and tighten.
