Flaws.
First off I have to agree with all of the reviews as they are on point with this product. I have bought two of these lights a cple years ago and have to say that it's a lackluster product that has many flaws and it seems to only last about a season maybe two if your lucky. I ended up with two due to the fact that the 1.5 inch fitting that supposed to screw into the back of the light had totally cracked in my hand while only hand tightening lightly. That fitting is impossible to find anywhere due to the threads on the smaller male end. I wish the manufacturer had supplied atleast an extra in the box as this part is well known to break easily. I had no choice but to buy another complete kit. Luckily It was on sale at the time so I got a good deal. I wish this product was better made and the 1 year average expected lifespan is about right. I'm not saying this is a horrible product but it seams that due to many flaws I wouldn't recommend it for a one and done as you will most likely be replacing this next year. Pros: easy to install, and provides adequate light across the pool. Ie. A 30x15 oval.

Just enough
Update March 23, 2014: Light did not survive the cold winter and I am looking for a replacement - I cannot fault this light but more of the water level control problems I had which allowed ice to form in the inlet and it expanded and broke the outer hose coupler. Assuming you can control the water level to below the inlet level this light will weather winters fine. We have had an unusual winter this year and this isn't the only pool part I am replacing. The light is as advertised. It is a good value as I have seen it other places for more money. The LEDs seem to do an OK job in my 24 foot round pool. The only thing not related to the light is the nozzle on the outlet. Even when directed downward I still get a lot of surface turbulance. In all fairness, this could just be the design of the pools location for this outlet.Haven't tried the color lens yet, but expect only additional dimming of the light. All in all, does what it is asked for the money and convenience of not having to add an additional hole to your pool.

Too bad!
so here is my original review 4 star.I was searching for a replacement AG pool light but didnt want halogen bulbs so this LED unit fit the bill.Installation is simple, remove the return and insert the unit, tighten and connect to electrical supply.Color filters are easily changed out, slip on slip off. Gives off a good amount of light, so I am happy with my purchaseFollowing up - I'm down grading to 3 stars. I was happy with it in general and it worked well......for a season... then water got in and it died. I also had a very slight leak where I could quite get a good seal in the pool return hole and ended up with a rust streak on the outside. To be fair that was probably my fault. Would I buy again? Maybe as it seems most of the lights I have purchased for the pool never go longer that a couple of seasons.

SLICK DESIGN - Beautiful Illumination
Using this in a small (12 ft) above ground pool. Impressed with the quality. Plenty of light and the color filters are easy to use and swap out, even after installation. Water flow is unaffected as advertised. Did have to check with the manufacturer to confirm placement of the washers relative to the pool wall as the instructions were ambiguous (it is white, brown, pool wall, brown, white) but their response was thorough and quick. Installation went smoothly and instructions were otherwise clear.Since this was an existing pool, had to drain water below the return line, cut existing PVC, install new through-the-wall fitting and the light and connect the PVC with a repair sleeve. If your pool is using flexible hose, you won't need to do that - just loosen the clamps, disconnect and reconnect. The design allows for future replacement without going through all of this (slick!).There is even an on/off switch and mounting tab on the power supply.UPDATE: Not long after installation, a portion of the light supporting an adapter connecting a "tulip" fountain accessory failed. (We had am unusual strong torrential rain that probably just overwhelmed the support from beating down on the "tulip". The company shipped a replacement immediately. Impressed.

Do not buy.. product is garbage!!
Bought this product in May and didn't install it until July when the pool was installed and lasted 2 days before the lights stopped working.. should have listened to the reviews but bought anyway.. customer service is horrible and pretty much told me sorry about my luck.. will never buy from this company again..

Check lights before installing
Have used this before and never had problems. Received this one brand new and installed into pool only to find out that after filling pool with water 4 out of the 8 lights don’t work. To late to change it. Now need to wait till pool closing to remove it. Don’t know if I will get another one.

Great idea - very poor execution.
I am a designer of consumer products by trade, and an ultimate DIY'er by hobby. I would give a zero star rating if I could.First, they leak. Installed eight units, eight leak. Designing a product that only has to hold the static pressure of a pool is a piece of cake.Second, they are way too big (for their light output), and stick out way too far from the wall. Again, easy to design something better.Third, instructions are unclear about how to assemble. Where does the o'ring go? I dunno, but I've tried everything.Fourth, an unresponsive vendor. I sent them the attached picture for enlightenment on o'ring placement - got nada.Edit: I finally got the last and most stubborn leaker to stop leaking. I did three things, so don't know which one did it. I used the advice of others' and 1. teflon taped the heck out of the male - 6 wraps. 2. lubed the o'ring and third, I added the included little flat gasket around the neck of the male.Tip: To work on the units, I unscrewed the eyeball retainer rings, removed the eyeball, then laid a sandwich baggie over the fixture and screwed the retainer ring back on. Makes a water tight seal.

Check that the hose thread from intake jet will fit and thread properly onto the one they supply
Gives off a lot of light as stated but hard to install due to the fact that the adapter they send is NOT compatible with my pool intake thread hose line. In fact if you find this is the same for you do not waste your time going to any hardware stores as they will continually tell you it is a foreign thread. Go straight to a pool store and of you are lucky they will have something to fit. My pool store checked over 15 pieces and then finally found one that would work. I will note that I am in canada and that could be the diff in thread size but one would hope such would be stated Unfortunate circumstances which led me to 6 hours of running around and frustration since I had drained the pool to below line for installation . Still gave it 4 stars though since once you get this light installed it is great. Ps. Pick up some Teflon tape since there is none included or you will be faced with leaks.

I do not recommend.
The connection leaks, the front cracked. Had potential but not a finished product. Sad part is that I bought three of them.
