Leifheit 11402 Carpet Sweeper, Rotaro S

I bought this sweeper hoping it would pick up the dog hair on our carpeting from our two Golden Retrievers which has to be vacuumed every day asit so bad. I thought maybe this sweeper would let us reduce the frequent vacuuming to a more manageable level. Unfortunately there is so much hair it just overwhelmed this sweeper. I doubt any sweeper would be able to handle all this hair. I had to return the sweeper. That being said I used it on the carpets that the dogs don't have access to and it worked perfectly. It is a well made product and made of metal instead the cheap plastics that are so common today. If it picked up the dog hair I would give it more than five stars if that were possible. I swear I don't see how they can have any hair left on their bodies, it's all on the floor. I highly recommend this product. (Just not for dog hair)

Received my sweeper this week and tried it right away. First thing I noticed upon opening the package was that it comes with no ownership papers. However, upon reading the box (Mostly in German), I determined that there is a 3 year warranty on the product, so keep your receipt and your box.I used it right away on my carpet. Works great on carpeting (middle setting). You can set the height setting for floors vs carpeting. I noticed that it didn't do as well for my linoleum floor in my kitchen (lowest setting). Missed some crumbs, etc. but if you go over it several times, it will eventually pick it up.Since I basically got it for carpet, in case I have no electricity, I was very pleased with its performance and I can always sweep my floor with a broom or dust mop.

My grandma had one when I grew up, and the form hasn't changed all that much. On the carpets it does an amazing job picking up dust and pet-hair. The brush can be lowered or raised depending on the carpet depth, and it works great on my kitchen floor too. Light-weight, easy to store, superior quality and design compared to all the other ones on the market. The dustpan is the only part that contains some hard plastic, I have no idea how long it will last, but it fits well, and is not subjected to stress, so it should be just fine. It obviously doesn't clean corners, but the side brushes do collect stuff along the walls fairly well. And best of all; no energy needed except your own hands. Considerably more expensive than most, and, given that it's actually well thought out, worth every cent of it.

It does pick up on thick throw rug but very hard to push on any surface even when you change the height. Would have expected more for the price.

This carpet sweeper works great on low pile. On deeper pile, it takes a bit more work. I would recommend it though.

Our Shark vacuum cleaner was too powerful for some tribal carpets we bought recently. This sweeper (not made in China) cleans in just a couple of passes and is much gentler on fine rugs, particularly important if they include silk.

This sweeper did not work for me in spite of all the good reviews. The design of the corner brushes seemed to be the problem. As you push and pull the corner brushes reverse direction and would twirl the dog hair into a wad then spit it out. Also, when trying to empty the dirt tray dog hair would have to be pulled out of the small opening. We have low pile wool rugs. Perhaps this sweeper just could not handle the dog hair.

I have a high-pile, high-shedding Moroccan carpet. I've refrained from vacuuming it too much, which I feel is a touch "aggressive", so I bought this sweeper to give the carpet a "lighter touch", and it was the only one I could find with an adjustment dial for different carpet pile heights.This sweeper is not suited for my type of carpet, even on the highest pile setting. It is unwieldy and difficult to move. The handle is comprised of multiple pieces screwed together, which can loosen over time as one moves the sweeper around. The 2 circular brushes in the front simply create more carpet shedding than is desirable, and "spreads" them around rather than into the sweeper. After only a few back and forth motions, the sweeper was rendered ineffective because the amount of shedding clogged up the sweeper brush, which was then troublesome to clean.This carpet sweeper may be more suited for a low pile carpet, but in my case, it's a rubbish product. Buyer beware.

Thrilled with this purchase. The sweeper is very neat - small enough to get into awkward spaces but robust and surprising effective on all floors.The outer horizontal brushes really do collect debris along edges. Emptying of dust is quick and easy. It folds flat and hangs on the back of the cupboard door when not in use (and it HAS been in use every day since it's arrival).I was about to complain that the advertised 'metal comb' was not sent (having searched the box in vain), but then espied it cliipped handily to the underside of the sweeper - doh!Would recommend this sweeper especially to anyone living in a small space, or to those too busy to get the vacuum cleaner out every day, or for there is a busy thoroughfare that needs frequent attention.

Very useful between hoovering - picks up my long haired cats fur and cat litter, so is used for that daily. Well made and sturdy - have only given 4 stars for a good quality product as I have not found emptying very simple.

The media could not be loaded.      This Leifheit Rotaro is the perfect floor sweeper.The design is the main thing that stands out. They've thought of everything.The handle pivots so the machine can be store upright in tight corners.The dirt is funnelled into a container which is easily emptied via the container removed from the top of the sweeper, unlike many others where you have to get your hands in and underneath the thing.The sweeping height is adjustable thanks to the switch on the front, making this sweeper suitable for both hard floors and carpets.The two big circular brushes push dirt from the edges of the room into the middle so they can be easily picked up by the main brushes.Quite simply this is a joy to use compared to other manual sweepers on the market. It is the perfect size at 28cm x 28cm, light enough for anyone to push about and strong enough to rarely have to consider getting the vacuum out. If you're on the fence due to the price, please don't be suckered in to buying a lesser model. The Rotaro is peerless and undoubtedly worth every penny.

Got this carpet sweeper to keep on top of cat fur and sisal debris from the cat's scratch post. It is brilliant, I was amazed how much fur it collected, and it empties very easily directly into the rubbish bin. It must be saving a lot of money on hoover bags and electricity. Extremely pleased with its effectiveness, ease of use & robustness.
