DannerMen's 53661 Scorch Military Boot

Good military boot, trust your running shoes size.
I’ve been wearing these for a little over a month now, they have been great. I had to get used to the padded tongue of Danner boots, but after a week it was a non issue.Fit: my feet run slightly narrow, but I wear normal width shoes and boots. I could wear a “C” width in dress shoes, but I don’t. I wear a 10.5 D in military issue boots and dress shoes. I wear a 12 in most running and athletic shoes. My last pair of coyote boots I wore for 4 years, Oakley light assault boot, I had a size 11 and they fit fine, but if I wanted to add a 2nd pair of socks or thick socks things got a little tight. After using the size wizard on the Danner site with various shoes I own I went with the 11.5 regular width. This is the perfect size for me, I have room for an extra pair of socks if I need them for a ruck march, but feet do not slide around in the boot with only 1 pair of socks on.The boots have a little more room in them than I am used to, so I bought a $10 pair of Dr S insoles and put them on top of the insoles in the boots and that worked great. It took about a week for the boots to break in and feel really comfortable, but they were not hard on my feet during this time and I did not get any blisters. These are great light weight boots with moderate ankle support that are great for regular garrison environments. That’s where I have worn them and they work great.

Great quality, no ankle support, crazy sizing
First and foremost, I love Danner Boots and have had many pairs in my lifetime. This pair is the first one that I have owned that disappointed me.All of the reviews said to buy a half size smaller than your regular size, so I did. I am normally a 12D and ordered a 11.5D. I put them on and I immediately knew that they were too narrow for me. I then took a few steps in the and both heels slipped up as I walked. If I am a 12, why do I have to guess to what size that I will need? These are very light weight boots and they offer zero in the ways of ankle support. I would not feel safe doing anything in these things besides walking in them.Love the quality of Danner but this one is a dud.

Overall good boot- rough break in period.
So, couple of things. Danner has been my go-to boot for a long time. These are AR-670-1 compliant, so that's a plus. They run large so order down a size or size and a half. The laces are strong; and the pattern allowd for separate tightening of the foot and ankle for comfort. The break in period was a little rough- The leather of the heel part took a while (and pinched my tendor the whole time!) and the soles were super firm at first. Gave them a week of wear around the office and there was a dramatic improvement.Good boot; DEFINETLY need a through break in period.

Does not live up to Danner quality.
Oh my, the break in is going to be brutal, I don’t even think I can wear these boots. I love Danner boots and have owned many pairs and have never been disappointed. However, these boots seem like a very cheap knock off of Danner. Out of the box they are extremely uncomfortable, especially around the top of the boot, around your calf. There is no way I can wear these to work, it will eat my feet up. Very disappointed with the quality of these boots. I would not buy these, its a horrible boot. Danner please, you need to correct this situation, it will tarnish your reputation of comfort and quality.

Order some laces, too
The boot is decent overall. The laces are designed for running shoes, but that's a relatively easy fix. Just use laces from your old boots. Another issue is that, due to the design, I get a swollen spot on the back of my leg where the cuff of the boot dips down.I also think that the tongue could use less padding, but others might like the extra padding.I appreciate that the boot actually has an EVA midsole, as opposed to other recent designs that fake it in the pictures. Overall it's a decent boot and will hopefully last me the two years until retirement.

Pretty good, but know your foot and the fit of the boot!
as always, Danner makes a very high quality product and this didn't disappoint at all! I have worn Danner combat boots for the past 24 years and have never had an issue. these particular boots had a smaller toe box and rubbed the top of my foot and couldn't be adjusted to fit, even after breaking in. The heel rubs high and can't be broken in. have tried a few ways to tie boot to fix this but no luck. bled through boot on 12 mile ruck. Super light and didn't slide at all on ruck - these are hard benefits to find in boots! I think these are great boots but likely just didn't fit my foot well. I would still recommend but advise to test fit first.

Seems good
I wear a standard issue 9.5 boot (10.5 running shoe) and these fit reasonably well, maybe a little tight but otherwise ok. I'm curious if a size 10 would be more comfortable. Overall, the boot seems well made. It's pretty light, and I noticed how well it stuck to the floor, even though it looks more rugged. I'm concerned about the huge "Danner" logo on the back; seems like something a CSM would notice.

Nicely made, comfortable, no ankle padding
The boots are well made (in the U.S.) and, after a break in period, are comfortable for all-day wear. The soles are solid and grippy, even on slick and uneven surfaces. They also seem to shrug off dirt. They're also nice looking. There is a visible "Danner" logo on the heel area, though in same-color thread.BUT, the ankles are not padded--the shafts are a single layer of the vinyl fabric--so if you're going to be working in rocky (or snake-infested) terrain, and need to protect your ankles, you may want to go another direction.

Ensure correct fit before buying...
really comfy even though they are a bit snug in one spot. Would reccomend trying a pair to ensure fit before ordering, if you wanna save money and time, but hard to do when no stores around carry these boots.

Great boot, fits as expected
The product fits as expected, and like most Danner's the break in period is fairly lengthy. The boots do dig slightly into the back of my heels, but that is to be expected with new boots.

Botas tácticas ideales
Muy cómodas, excelentes para airsoft, muy resistentes. Las volvería a comprar de nuevo sin pensarlo.

Meh
Out of all the danners I’ve owned over the years these fit the worst and are very uncomfortable. They almost feel like knockoffs. I would recommend the tannicus or the tachyon over these.

Best boots I've ever purchased!
Light, Durable, almost stain resistant. If dirty pressure wash them and let dry in the sun for maybe an hour and they look new again.
