Campfire Tales: A Collection of Campfire Stories

As usual Thomas Mercaldo's camping and fireside books for Scouts are right on the money for the age group intended. Clean jokes and stories that still make the Scouts laugh and enjoy being kids. The books are aimed at Scouts, so for my Cub Scouts, some of the stories are a little too old, and the kids don't always get them, but telling anything that keeps campfires fun is a good thing.

The audience participation stories are not very good. Some stories are funny, some are good. I'll keep it, but not overly impressed.

Great stories to share at Cub Scout Campouts. My Scout Pack loved the two I read at our last campout.

Great book, kids loved the stories. Altho I did have to adapt some as most of them were American

I like these books, they have stories that you can use straight from the book. Personally I am looking at changing some a bit for younger children in my case Beaver Scouts. It is a great resource for anyone who reads stories to children and wants stories/ideas about campfire stories

Very American stories, mostly based around American Boy Scouts with a few exceptions. Most suitable for teenage years. The language can be quite hard for children to follow and the places named are in the USA. Often references to American history, wars etc. The scary stories are good and scary if that's what you're after! In our camping group the max age of our children is seven so unfortunately this book is a little advanced for them. I'll hang on to it for when they're older.

Great reminder of those stories I enjoyed as a Girl Guide but have long forgotten!
