This is a dictionary with a twist... the goal is to help you become a better scrabble player by helping you to find additional words you can build off of.One of the most used sections for me is the summary of two letter words up front, then three-letter words (so you can nest words adjacent to each other, doubling the value of each letter in the word because it counts twice... in the horizontal word and the vertical word.Warning... no definitions are included, and sometimes I've found errors in an earlier edition where some words were missing. This version has larger print than my older version... GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you!

My mom cheats at online Scrabble by using an app. I got this to help Grandma even out the playing field. She's 96 and excited about 2 letter words now. Will update this if it helps Grandma win.

This book will help you check your spelling, and show various versions of each word, and lists approved prefixes, suffixes, and plurals, You can also easily find similar words that could be a better fit for your tiles. It's an invaluable resource. I highly recommend it.

A useful tool for all players who play scrabble "open book". We found several new words the first time we used it and I love the fact that all the two and three letter words are in one section at the beginning of the book. It is useful for letters to add before and after the individual letter or complete word you want to build on.

Although this is a fine product, particularly for a beginning Scrabble player, and we have used it intensively for many years of play, a more advanced player will probably not wish to use this without a copy of a better abridged English dictionary at hand. On at least two dozen occasions of play, many relatively short, perfectly acceptable English Scrabble words have occasioned our games that were not contained within the Scrabble Word Building Book.I have no idea what a "World" Scrabble (or even an "English only") Scrabble event would look like, but perhaps the official rules of the game could stand some revision also. If "MARTIAN" is a valid Scrabble word (and according to the Word Building Book, it is), why isn't "JOVIAN", or for that matter, "PARISIAN", or "AMERICAN"? Evidently, the rules of Scrabble are much more wishy-washy and language dependent than those of more sophisticated and well thought-out games, like chess.

Been playing against a person forever we use house rules look at the dictionary onetime violates actual rules supposed to play without using dictionary only use to challenge. My dictionary gives a huge advantage finds scrabble words and if you look up one word it shows seven or more variations. love it

A great little book to have alongside the Scrabble board when you need to cram before a big game or just want to challenge some uncommon 2, 3, or 7 letter word containing a Q or Z or V or any other letter, for that matter! Bought first as an app, but searching through the app was impractical and time wasting. Sometimes a real page turner really is the best thing to have at your fingertips!

This is a must have for every Scrabble/Words with Friends etc fan/addict.It is organized well by both the number of letters (two and three letter words!) and in alphabetic order. All of those words that add up to a scoring bonanza.It also helps with increasing verbal skills. This keeps my brain in top notch condition. It's almost as if a part of my brain that had not been firing at full speed had a jolt of espresso.

You really need this if you want to make any progress with Words with Friends on Facebook!! I bought two more copies for my son and mother and now they are giving me a run for my money!!

Sensible size to carry with travel version of game

I bought this for my sister. I have had a copy for many years and find it very helpful especially for extending words already played in Scrabble. The list of two and three letter words on the first few pages is very useful.

Great for my scrabble

I bought this because I like to play Scrabble often and this is a really good book for me as it also gives me ideas of how to build words from what's on my rack. I have learned a lot of new words partly because of this book. As for having fun with the scrabble game -- I have and it has just improved my ability to learn new words and be able to use them for the next game I play.
