Shark NV803 DuoClean Powered Lift-Away, Standard, Cinnamon (Renewed)

I've had 3 Shark sweepers now. I have liked them all. This model has excellent suction, and it goes from high pile to hard floor with the flick of a switch. It comes apart easily so you can quickly go from sweeping the floor/rug to sweeping under the beds, vacuuming a sofa, or doing the stairs. It even has an attachment for doing under appliances such as the range and dryer. When done, you simply empty the canister so no dirt/dust stays in the machine smelling and breeding germs.Do be aware that the head is not as wide as on some machines. If I had a large area to sweep, that might be a consideration for me.In conclusion, I stand quite impressed by this machine. Someone thought the mechanics out well.There are many models. Do read about each carefully (and watch any videos you can find on the site or on UTube before buying. I nearly bought one that would not have served my needs as well as the one I'm reviewing. I'm so glad I looked again.

I owned two Dysons, one of which finally fell apart after 10 years. On a whim, decided to try a Shark to determine if they are comparable. They are NOT! The Shark is BETTER!! Though this Shark seems significantly smaller in size (brush head width, dust receptacle), this does not take away from the better performance aspect. Easy and quick to assemble and I was ready to try it. Had to rethink my "vacuuming technique" as the Shark pivots at the brush head which my older Dyson did not, but I admit I like it. Might be an issue if the Shark was a larger vacuum, but with it's slight "self propelled" feeling, was very easy to maneuver. PROs: the brush head has a light--you don't know you miss that feature until you have it on a vacuum; quieter than the Dyson; three floor surface settings-even on the softer, less suction setting, it ate my throw rug and tore up the rubber back, so be careful, the suction is amazing; comes with a bag to store all the rarely used attachments; it's a "pretty" vacuum if a vacuum can be pretty; long electrical cord. Haven't tried it on my stairs yet, but this feature is one of the main reasons I purchased. CONs: The little "clip" to hold the electrical cord doesn't hold the cord; the little gadget that is suppose to keep the hose mounted closer to the handle does not work so the hose flops around, but it doesn't affect usage or get in the way. I purchased this as a Warehouse used item, but it's obvious the vacuum was never removed from the box.

Item is pretty heavily used. Lots of scuffs and scratches, wear and tear, hair caught in the brushes, etc. The motor seems to work fine, but I would not describe this as "Like new", as you've done.I could _maybe_ live with that, BUT --The latch that holds the handle in place at the top of the main body ("wand" in the manual) is broken. Pushing the vacuum forward releases the latch. Pulling back again causes the handle to fall out, and the vacuum falls to the floor.This happens every time; it's definitely not an issue with the latch not seating once. After several attempts, I was surprised to learn that the power button still works when the handle is disconnected. Interesting feature.Motor seems to be in good shape. Those couple of strips I was able to go over are clean.If the seller is reading this: I'll be returning this item, but as we're in the middle of the COVID-19 lock-down, I'm waiting to submit the return. I'm sure there are more important packages than a broken vacuum needing mailed right now.EDIT - also, the item received (blue) was not the color listed ("Cinnamon"). I really don't care about that, but it's worth mentioning in a review.

Bought refurbished to save a couple bucks and I have zero regrets! This is a fantastic vacuum for carpet, hard floors, and area rugs...and the transition is the flick of a button. It came with all of the attachments in great condition. The cord is long enough to reach a reasonable distance. Shark is the best!! I did also purchase an extra warranty just in case, but I have been using it for a few weeks and have not had any issues.

I really liked the design of this vacuum but unfortunately it stopped working after 2 months of very light use. I did contact Shark and they were great and sent out a different body for the unit but it died after one use and now I can't get a hold of them because of COVID. They said to leave a message and they would return call but we haven't gotten a call. I will update review if we hear back from them.UPDATE: I forgot that when I called the first time I called Shark directly, not the warranty number on the manual. I just called them again and they walked me through a process that figured out that there was actually a partial clog in one of the hoses and that is what was causing all the problems! They were super helpful and patient and had tricks! Just used the vacuum with no problems! Thank you Shark!! They have excellent customer service!The only thing I would change about the vacuum design is to make the base a little wider so it didn't take so many back and forths to finish the job! LOVE LOVE LOVE the ease of pulling the roller out to clean off hair, the lift away design that makes doing stairs and other things with the hoses sooooo much easier than with other vacuums. definitely would recommend.

I have bought a lot of vacuums over the years and have always had issues with them. I decided to spend a little more money this time and hope for the best. I found this one which was "renewed" and it's the best vacuum I have ever had. Love the convenience of the tank lifting off not to mention the hose/wand lifting off. Really makes cleaning a lot easier. Has more power than any other I have bought in the past. Highly recommended.
