Best AAA light you can get
Fenix does it again with a great product, very powerful little light that is so small you will have no reason not to carry it. Operating on inexpensive AAA batteries, yet very bright and long lasting, plus waterproof - this is a great choice. As an added bonus it has push button activation so in a pinch you could use it tactically with your pistol if the need arose, I know that's almost silly, but my bigger light is usually in my Go-Bag and not on my person so as a last resort some light is better than no light and push button activation is essential for this. I've looked for an LED light of this size for some time, I plan to buy more of them for Christmas presents for my friends.

Good AAA Flashlight that Falls Just Shot of Great
I'm a bit of a flashlight junky. I like a having an EDC(Every Day Carry) light for every situation. Lately, I've preferred having a smaller flash light for carrying and although I appreciate what the higher end high output batteries offer, I really appreciate lights that can use standard AA and AAA batteries as well as NiMH rechargeable batteries like the eneloops. I like knowing that I can find a replacement battery almost anywhere in the world without the need of a charger. The LD02 at 100 lumens seems to offer just about everything I like in a light minus a few key elements which gave this light only 4 stars. It is very small and compact. From tip to tip I get roughly 3inches(76mm) long and about a half and inch(~15mm) thick. It feels good in the hand and has the appropriate knurling for this size of light. It is enough to provide grip but not overly aggressive. The button is adequately springy and firm and feels of average quality rubber for well made flashlights. The front lens seems to be made of a plastic or polycarbonate. I've never personally had issues with Fenix lens and they seem to hold up well to carry and use.Although I can't test the lumen output technically, comparing the high mode of 100 lumens seems to be significantly brighter than my Preon 1 with a max of 84 lumens in high mode. Regardless of the data, the bright is very bright for a light of this size and all three modes are more than adequate for what you would use them for. The light doesn't have a memory so you will always start in medium, then to low, then to hi. It doesn't offer any hidden modes like turbo or strobe. The order of brightness is a little different than I'm used to, but seems practical for regular usage. The light uses standard AAA batteries as well as NiMh batteries like the Eneloop 1.2v 900mAh. I have used both and they work fine.I really like the size, build quality, brightness, brightness options, optional pocket clip, and battery options but there are a few things I would have liked. First of all, the pocketclip seems fairly weak and like an afterthought. It rotates around freely and in general I feel like I need to baby it but I will see how it lasts and update my review accordingly. Second, I like flashlights that can tailstand and with the rubber button protruding out of the back, you are unable to do that here. It seems like it wouldn't have been something too hard to do considering other lights are able to easily add this feature despite barrel width. Third, I like my lights to have memory but the brightness order on this light is thoughtful and works well so I wouldn't necessarily dock a star for just this. Finally, aluminum as a material is great but I would really like to see this same light come in a titanium version.I have always been satisfied with Fenix lights. They are generally built well and are usually fairly affordable. If I could see a version of this light come out with a better and more thoughtful pocketclip that is reversible and higher quality, it would be an easy 5 star review. As it stands, the price is reasonable, the build quality is high, and this is a very practical and functional flashlight with excellent lumens for the size. It is easy to recommend at the ~$30 price range.

the actual light itself is pretty good, and is definitely bright
Let me start by saying, the actual light itself is pretty good, and is definitely bright. However, this product misses the mark due to its extremely s***ty clip! The clip is basically useless. It's very flimsy, has NO tension to keep it in place in your pocket and falls off very easily. I purchased this light to keep clipped in my support side front pocket and was let down by the junk they call a clip. Second, the tailcap is unable to support a key ring/split ring due to the small opening and the clicky switch extending out too far to fit anything to it. So it fails to be put on a key ring in a normal manor and fails to clip to a pocket. But besides those main reasons for me purchasing it, the light is made of decent material, lightweight and very bright on all settings. Unfortunately this light will just stay in my center console or carry bag and I'll go back to my streamlight micro stream for edc. When compared to the micro stream, streamlight takes it!

Horrible defective junk. Would not even work right out of ...
Cannot possibly say enough bad about this product. The first one I ordered would not even work right out of the box. Wouldn''t even turn on at all. Returned it and ordered a replacement. The replacement would turn on occasionally but usually not. You could turn it off and on; off and on 20 times, and maybe once or twice it would turn on. But it always turned off in the off position; just usually not on. Then it would randomly come on if I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't, then I left it in the on position without realizing it - my roommate said "Um, there's a light on inside your pocket". In addition, there is no hole in so you can put it on a keychain, which is why I bought it. This is a less-than-useless epic junk fail.

Well built but I dislike the user interface (UI)
I have several different Fenix flashlights. This is the first one I didn't like. The quality was excellent however I dislike the user interface (UI). The rear clicky light sequence is medium then low then high. I much prefer a sequence that is in order of brightness with my favorite sequence of high, medium and thenLow and my second favorite sequence being low, medium, and high sequence.I was unable to find a memory mode to force it to come on in high rather than the default of medium. After trying it for a while, despite the fact that it is a well made quality light, I disliked the UI so much that I went back to using another light.
