What makes this "medical" or different from the other powermics?

Nothing, they are all the same. They only work with the medical edition version.

What makes this "medical" or different from the other powermics?

Nuance makes a "medical" line of their products so they can charge medical personnel much more. They also make their regular speech recognition software (non-medical versions) purposely break (simply not work) with other brands of medical software . They are a very, very shady company. Beware.
