Swanson is a name I have always trusted for supplements.I began using probiotics regularly after taking care of my terminally ill parents for 6 years and after their deaths my immune system was practically nil. (Before then, I only took them when taking antibiotics or if I felt I needed an immunity boost.) I became quite ill and after all of the antibiotics I was given I had thrush and needed to re-boost my system. I began with another brand that worked well, but they doubled their prices pretty quickly so I switched to Swanson when I found this formula. I am happy to say that beyond an intestinal system that works well, I haven't been sick since and it's been 7 years now.I look for a probiotic that has at least 10 different strains of bacteria and the number of billions of organisms equal to or more than my age. As I'm over 50 now I want at least 50 billion organisms. In my unprofessional opinion, anything under that number is pretty much useless to me.As a side note for any care givers out there: Take care of yourselves! Taking care of someone, or in my case two people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, can do untold damage to you. The doctors almost worried more about my survival than my parents. It took almost a year before I felt back to normal. If you have elderly family members still under 70 have them invest in long term care insurance before it is too late. Medicare etc., does not pay for any type of long term care. Taking Swanson or another appropriately formulated probiotic can help you too. :-)

I have taken probiotics for a few years now. I tried the Swanson Ultimate Formula at the urging of my son. Unfortunately, the product gave me terrible upset stomachs. In the past I've never used any strain with more than 5mm organisms. Perhaps this was the issue. Regardless, I removed the supplement from my diet several times and got immediate relief. Everytime I added it back, I had similar results. I'm certain this is an excellent supplement for many. Sadly, it does not work for me.

I take this daily and NEVER get sick, on occasion i do run out and go a few days without it and almost always start feeling sick, or just run down. These are great and they are much cheaper here than Swanson direct. Highly recommended!

This product is very good and effective, and I recommend it as a probiotic personal diet supplement. I will be a repeat customer to replenish my supply.
