Dear reader,Please learn from my experience and that of the two '1 star' reviews written on this page previous to mine -oh that I had read them myself...Having failed a third time to defeat a friend on his home lawn (and in a rare display of poor sportsmanship) I hurled my borrowed mallet to the ground as my emotions over took me. Of course the mallet (not an Uber product) snapped.In a state of heightened embarrassment and in an attempt to make amends to mine host, I searched Amazon for a good quality product that would provide an able and speedy replacement to help repair the damage I had done.Having placed my order, penned a suitable letter of apology (to be opened upon receipt of the 'mysterious amazon package') and departed satisfied that I had done all I could to make amends you can imagine my horror when the bloody thing turned up splintered to bits!The irony of this situation burns hot and deep as with great fanfare my host - still grieving the decapitation of one mallet - is then presented with the shattered remains of another!Then begins the long rigmarole of arranging the return and refund of this insulting product, which of course my host had to play an active part; further inconveniencing them and intensifying the spotlight on my original crime.Some would say that had I been better at Croquette or if I had contained my frustration that I would never have landed myself in this situation. However, this now leaves me with two options;1) Go into training and a deep meditative state to improve my skill, dexterity and temperament to avoid having to purchase replacement mallets in the future2) To continue to play with vinegar and passion and to purchase as many replacement mallets as possible from Uber's competitors.Shame on you Uber. Two poor reviews could be a coincidence but three is a trend.Take some pride in your product and sort out your business you charlatans.DB

I am only 5ft and struggled to play with a standard mallet - length and weight. We only play in our garden for fun and for this purpose it is excellent. It is just the right size for shorter family members. Like everything - if you want to play competitively / very serious then you’ll have to fork out on an expensive model. For 99% of people this mallet is just fine. The bonus for me is that I can now play better since I’ve had a short person’s mallet.

Bought two - mine was fine. The second was poorly made . To me it seemed like reject passed on to me.. It was repaired by a qualified repairer as it was needed for a match. Should have been sent back. Brass edge not fitted correctly brass screws BROKE which made the banding loose..Require a part refund for work carried out £25.OO.A very poor product and the manufacturer should be told.and Amazon should make a random quality check.This is a retirement village and croquet one of our top pastimes. Looks good hope it lasts

Agree with Woodworm, mallet was very poorly made - screws not straight or tight, ferrules do not fit ends, and now the head has developed a split. Standard of workmanship worse than mine was as a 12 year old schoolboy.

I liked everything about it - right weight, right height - great

just took up croquet. this mallet gives me confidence and I practice with it everyday. makes a huge difference to have own ballot so you can practice in a consistent manner
