Good purchase
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After years of buying cheaper blenders and replacing them every couple of years, I finally decided to buy a Vitamix. I wish I had done it sooner. This thing is built like a tank. It powers through frozen fruit, ice, nuts, vegetables, and anything else I’ve thrown at it without hesitation. Smoothies come out silky smooth with no chunks, and homemade soups, sauces, and dressings have a consistency that I could never achieve with my previous blenders. What impressed me most is how powerful and consistent it is. You don’t have to stop every few seconds to scrape the sides or shake the container. It simply works. Yes, it’s expensive. I hesitated because of the price, but after using it regularly, I understand why so many people swear by Vitamix. The performance, build quality, and reliability make it feel like a long-term investment rather than another kitchen appliance. If you’re on the fence because of the cost, consider how many cheaper blenders you’ll replace over the years. This is one of those products that lives up to the hype. Highly recommended.

Worth the price. Boy math=pays for itself after 69 smoothies
I bought this so I could learn to make my own smoothies instead of paying $11 and change everyday for a Southblock one. After upgrading from my wife's old knock off nutribullet, this was a game changer. It blends frozen fruit with ease and makes the smoothie silky smooth. I saw some reviews that complained about the noise but it's actually fairly quiet. I don't go up past 7 on the dial though (cause it's not needed) but that might be where it being loud becomes a factor. Cleaning is also super easy and I do appreciate that the blades aren't razer sharp so I can get soap and water under the blades without worrying about my fingers as much.

Vitamix has an excellent reputation for a reason
Owning a Vitamix blender was a goal for ages, and I finally got this one almost 3 years ago. This awesome blender still works like it did when it was new. I’m a vegan and the value of an excellent blender really comes into play every day. This blender is so fast and powerful that it has no trouble making things like silky hummus and cashew cream. Smoothies blend thoroughly in just a few seconds. This Vitamix lets me make my own nut milks and turn pumpkin seeds or lentils into tofu. It’s opened a whole new world of cooking. This blender is so top notch that if you don’t want something blended into the consistency of a shake, like pesto for example, then you need to set it to low speed and don’t walk away to load the dishwasher or something. Just wait a moment and you’re done. Clean up is no problem with this Vitamix. They’re built with a smooth general surface and don’t have annoying gaps that fill with liquids. Just a heads up on use - I start mine on the lowest speed then turn up the power to blend. It only takes a second and avoids the jolt of 0-100 instantly. In any case, I haven’t experienced any sort of leakage with this awesome Vitamix and everything fits perfectly. Three years in and I’m still so happy with my Vitamix blender. Never had any problems with it. There is a reason that Vitamix has a loyal fan base. Yes, they’re more expensive upfront but it’s saved me a small fortune too. I haven’t needed to replace or repair anything. Prior to getting the Vitamix, my blenders were not the inexpensive type and they still only lasted a year at most. Vitamix is the best blender you can buy.

You Can't Get Much Better
It's the best blender without any bells and whistles. Pricey but again it is the BEST. It is THE restaurants' standard peace of equipment that last decades under heavy use, and restaurants will use this machine more in a week than you will in a lifetime. You most-likely will never need another blender (at least not for 15-20+ years) The design coupled with its power gives you smoothe and most consistent results. If you get into making, smoothies, purees, nuttbutters, or any blending (like soups, refried beans, and even hummus) you can't get much better outside of some fancy setting/buttons (which I find unnecessary) and maybe some safety features/failsafes (which again, I also don't find necessary, because a good rule of thumb too not stick your hand in it while on the motor...) The only con I have is it is tall and usually doesn't fit in spaces between the counter and cupboard when you put the blender on the motor. Easy solution just pull the motor out so it isn't under the cupboard. I do wish my cupboard are hight so i can have the whole blend just chilling on the counter like my Toaster. But I just do that with the bottom motor and store rest of the blender away. I would have gone for a shorter blender, but this size gives me opinions making it less of a hassle when I do need to blend more or if i need to make more than 1 or 2 smoothies. Plus I find the narrowing design towards the bottom of the blender helps with the product. Personally this size is just right for all my bending projects and it fits in most standard dishwashers, if blitzing some soapy water doesn't already do the trick. So IF you are finding yourself needing a bender, wish your smoothies felt more like SMOOTHies rather and Slushie from a certain drive-in, or want a better consistency for purees and have a easier time makingemulsions . Your journey ends here. Disclaimers: -Obviously this an investment, but if you want a great appliance this is a "buy once cry one" kind of purchase. If you DO NOT have a blender, think of how (or if) a blender be helpful to you. If your not satisfied with your cheaper bender, it's probably because it isn't a vitamix or at least not the 5200 -With the Vitmix 5200 blender MAKE A HABIT of always turning the dial to 1 and flip the switch to "Variable" before and after turning it on. The power of this bad boy need a little bit of responsibility. Flipping it on while it is switched on "High" or dialed to a "10" (especially without a lid) can splatter all over the place. -This blender is also loud, you won't suffer earing damage but you'll get an earful if a baby is sleeping in the next room. Also, Late night smoothies can also run the risk of head trauma if you have a wife... blend responsibly.

A Vegan Basic Tool
One of the only things I have successfully dragged around the country over ... let's just say "years" to not age myself. Does the job it was intended to do. No complaints. Absolutely solid product. Heavy solid, as in strong, but heavy. Not an easy carry. Not going to take it to the office and home again on the daily unless you are seriously dedicated. If you are vegetarian or vegan - a real necessity. How much whole fruit or vegetables can you possibly chew through in a day. Don't answer because this IS the answer.

Terrible buy
Disappointed – Not Worth the Money I received the Vitamix VM0197 as a Christmas gift and was excited because of the company's reputation. I honestly thought I was upgrading from my Ninja blender. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing products I've ever owned. The blender worked only a couple of times before it started shutting off in the middle of blending. Every morning my wife and I make smoothies, and this machine would repeatedly stop mid-cycle, leaving half-blended ingredients and wasting expensive fruit, yogurt, protein powder, and other ingredients. I contacted Vitamix while the unit was still under warranty. Instead of replacing what was clearly a defective machine, I spent months going through troubleshooting emails, answering detailed questionnaires, testing multiple outlets, changing my blending technique, adjusting ingredient order, waiting for the machine to "cool down" because of its thermal protection, and eventually being asked to record videos of the blender while it failed. Customer service was incredibly frustrating. For a blender that costs over $400, I expected a simple warranty process—not weeks of troubleshooting and repeatedly proving that the product wasn't working. It felt like getting a replacement required an act of Congress. What's most disappointing is that my much less expensive Ninja blender has been more reliable than this Vitamix. My Ninja never left me with half-made smoothies or wasted ingredients. If you're considering purchasing the VM0197, I would strongly recommend looking at other options. A premium price should come with premium reliability and customer service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. **Pros:** None that I experienced. **Cons:** * Failed after only a few uses. * Frequently shuts off during blending. * Wastes ingredients. * Overly complicated warranty process. * Customer service focuses on repeated troubleshooting instead of resolving the problem. I expected much better from a company with Vitamix's reputation. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product

Love vitamix...one caveat to this particular one.
I'll start by saying that I absolutely love my vitamix. It's pricey, of course, but you already know that going in so no surprises there. So far, everything that I've used it for has produced superior quality than any of my other blender brands used in the past. Green smoothies blended to perfection, silky smooth romesco sauces and soups, haven't tried salad dressings yet but I have no doubt they'll be fantastic. The ONLY issue I've had so far is with the tall thin container. Really inconvenient to try to put on the counter underneath the cabinets since it's so tall. It fits, but not with the lid on, which means I have to store the lid separately. If you have high cabinets or counter space thats not directly under cabinets then this won't be an issue for you. However if your kitchen is like mine, i'd definitely recommend the fatter, low profile container. I really wish I would have gotten that one to begin with. On the plus side, you can always buy one... but for $100+ on top of the already steep price tag, I'm not sure the inconvenience is THAT inconvenient. With the exception of wishing I'd got the low profile container, this blender is definitely superior, and what I would consider an investment in your health. It makes homemade much easier and efficient, which obviously has its benefits. While the price tag might elicit a little whiplash for us normal folks, I don't plan on having to replace it any time soon. And if you consider it an investment, it definitely makes the price easier to swallow.

Blends great
Mother loved it. She loves cooking. Only thing i will say is that the blender doesn't ‘lock’ like other blenders do. It moves from side to side. When blending it doesn't look like it moves or comes off the top, but my mom was hesitant at first. Great blender!

Amazing Vitamix blender
Lemon Scent who sold this blender are a fantastic company, I was initially disappointed that this blender came with an American plug and chose to return it. But Lemon Scent bent over backwards to meet my needs, they will supply an adapter to use in a UK kitchen. I purchased a Vitamix blender many years ago and fell in love with this versatile machine. Easy to use and clean. Worth the investment for sure. Thank you Lemon Scent.

An *absurdly* good blender.
I am not - WAS not - much of a "blender guy", but the Vitamix 5200 changed that. And even though I am typing this all out in a product review, where that sort of sentiment belongs, it still sounds absurd to me. Who gets impressed by a *blender*? Me, apparently. Prior to this Vitamix the only blender I had ever used in my *entire life* was an ancient Osterizer from the 70s. The thing is literally older than I am, but beyond all reasonable expectations it still somehow works. Go Osterizer, I guess? This year I grew way too many hot peppers, decided to make a bunch of hot sauce with them, and suddenly the Osterizer showed its age. While it was fine blending a couple of smoothies a month for us, it struggled to blend up 12 litres of hot sauce in one night, so I figured maybe the time had come to get a "real" (I.E. manufactured in this century) blender. After some internet research I selected the Vitamix 5200 as being the most likely not to struggle through my new hot sauce hobby, only to find that I was basically swatting a fly with a nuke. That old Osterizer took about 2 hours of blending and cooling down to do 12 litres of my (admittedly very thick) hot sauce puree. The Vitamix 5200 did all 12 litres in less than 2 minutes. The Vitamix 5200 is *absurd*. And that has made it life-changing for us. It doesn't matter what you put in there. You can just shove the most fibrous of vegetables in there, right up to the brim, and *bvvvvvt*, instantly pureed. Shove a bunch of ice in there...instant slushy. Anything that is a solid that you no longer want to be a solid anymore this blender will handle. So we went from a household that might make a couple of smoothies every month to one that is now bulk-making sauces, soups, and so forth. We even just toss hole grains of various types (wheat, oatmeal, rye, flax, etc.) and turn them into our own multi-grain flower, then into pre-mixed dry bread ingredients. When we are "low spoons" - I.E. we just don't have the jam to cook properly - we can just pull out some of our pre-made sauce from the freezer, drop it on some noodles, et voila: actual food groups get consumed. As an ADHD household we have been familiar with the concept of "a critical threshold of ease of use" for some time, but we never expected to find that in a *blender*. Somehow, however, the thing is both just easy enough to use and powerful enough to handle whatever we throw at it with zero prep work that has managed to make the "pre-cooking your nutritious meals" parts of adulting just easy enough that we can actually do them on a regular basis. If you're looking for a top-of-the-line blender for your home, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything that would top it, I think. All those rave reviews on the internet were, for once, actually not lying.
