Gardena2650 164-Foot Wall Mount Removable Garden Hose Reel With Hose Guide

This my third. I have one at home, Mom’s and work. They are AWESOME. Pretty, durable, easy ro install for me and love how easy it os to roll up my 100’ of hose!!!

I like this one because it is well-designed and removable. Putting the unit together is not difficult only with the help of a YouTube video, thank you sir, whoever was nice enough to post the video. I would suggest people do a quick find on youtube instead of trying to follow the paper direction. Like anything, it is pricey for a reason. The German knows how to design stuff. The included pictures show the reel holding a 50 foot standard hose, the US size 5/8 inch.

A bit pricy, but cheeper than buying it retail. Works well, and the metal bracket is solid. A nice feature is that you can lift it off the bracket easily.

Purchased this unit for my 100’ hose real. It worked very well for the first summer. I removed it at the end of the summer and stored it as recommended. Upon hooking it back up in the spring, every connection leaked. From the faucet connection to the hose real connection. I added pipe tape and tightened all connections …no luck. It still leaked like a sieve.I eventually had to bypass the whole unit and run my connection directly to the faucet using store bought quick connects. I do not recommend this unit.

I actually bought one of these from the local hardware ten years ago and put it on a house we then sold. For some reason they no longer stock them here. So on this house we have tried many different hose reels with no success, most breaking as soon as the warranty was up and all much harder to operate. Then driving past our old house we saw the Gardena Wall Mount Reel was still in use and looking neat and tidy as always. A concerted hunt ensued and we found we could buy on Amazon.AssemblyThe reel comes in a small number of pieces that are very easy to put together, most just snap or thread on. There are two screws to hold a locking ring inside,which need to be quite tight. I did them up by hand driver but some people may want to use a power driver. The only slightly tricky bit is the outer cover, if you line it up wrong it wont go on, but if you look at the grooves in the face it will tell you how it needs to go. All fixings to mount on a brick or timber wall are included and the mounts are simple and strong. There is even a short piece of hose to go to the tap included.OperationSo easy, the mount holds very secure on the wall, no wobbling about when you are winding in. The hose guide supplied is also secure on the wall. One hand winds easily and with the other you can guide the hose in neat as a pin. The fittings are all European quality so no leaks.The reel slides into the mount and there is a carry handle, and fittings to clip the ends of both hoses into, so you can remove very easily if security is an issue and you need to put it away.

UPDATE a couple weeks later: the leader hose burst soaking me in 50 degree weather. I guess the end fitting wasn't delivered tight and it popped off at the reel, with the hose wiggling everywhere and making a mess. I'll have to fix that this weekend. ALSO I forgot to mention all the screws that come with this kit have standard heads so driving them in is the least convenient it could be. Some bean counter in the Gardina back office is probably very proud of himself or herself for saving less than a penny the more convenient Phillips heads would have cost. Lowering my rating.This is expensive for what you get. (1) the plastic could be sturdier. It flexes too much while winding. (2) The hose connector is plastic and could be torn right out by someone not paying close attention. I zip-tied ours in bit it's a jury-rig and not ideal. (3) part of the hose runs as you wind. (4) instructions are insufficient and do not explain how to run the hose inside, so yours could easily crimp reducing pressure.As others explained, a hose will crimp at the attachment which reduces pressure. I tried different methods but finally accepted the least crimp. This is not addressed in the instructions - no photos or diagrams. I've attached photos, so pick your option. You'll recognize my hose is the one Amazon paired as a recommendation.About the corner thing: Really think about how practical this will be for you. It isn't practical at all for us. However, since the plastic is so light on the reel I'm sure a few will last longer where folks are reeling in around cirners.

the best hose reel I have ever used

Purchased the Gardena 2650 on December 9, 2020, but when I actually installed it on Feb 2nd, 2021, I found that it had a defective part (clamp 2650-00.600.76) in it. Since I installed it AFTER the Amazon return date had passed, I was not able to claim it via Amazon. I have send Gardena's support 3 separate emails regarding the damaged part, but so far none of the Gardena email manufacturer support addresses have reacted whatsoever on my email requests for me to get or purchase a replacement for the defective part. Too bad.Just a buyer beware. Make sure you install BEFORE the claim period has passed. :-{Overall VERY impressed with the quality of Gardena products, but so-far I am VERY DISSATISFIED with Gardena's after sales support.March 21, 2021 updateAfter less than 2 months installed, as shown on inserted photo, the defective part failed completely and the hose roll fell of the holder.So far I have send at least 6 emails to Gardena Germany and Canada for a replacement part, BUT NO REPLY whatsoever. :-( Updating my rating to 1 star, for complete lack of manufacturer support.
