The lapis oil is fabulous, but there's an obvious lack of quality control with the masks. Before I ordered, I saw the reviews of others saying their mask came rancid. I thought that had to have been taken care of, so I'll go ahead and order, but my mask arrived rancid, brown, liquidized and with a strong smell that stays in your chest if you breathe it in; I only had it open long enough to snap the picture I took and I could feel it in my chest for hours. That isn't safe and that isn't okay, it's not the level of quality I expect from Herbivore.

I have tried this product before and I love their oil! This is my first time getting the oil/mask duo and I think I was sent an expired product. The mask didn’t have a safety seal of any kind and it looked like it was moldy? The mask was completely liquified and leaked through the box. Like I’ve said, never tried the mask before so not sure if this is the texture it’s suppose to be or if it really is expired. The oil looks fine and looks exactly like I always purchase.

Normally a 5-star product (I’ve purchased from their website directly and from Sephora before) but this is expired. The mask is a dark green color rather than the usual blue, had what looks like mold on the lid, and it has a pungent, chemical scent, almost like ammonia or something. Will throw away.

I was definitely disappointed when I received this. Right off the bat- I was expecting a vibrant blue, and this was diarrhea green. Opened it up, the smell was decent but stronggg. Very perfume-y or like smelling a bottle of essential oils. The consistency also was not a gel, It was thin and watery. I thought maybe it melted in shipping? So I let it set in a cool cabinet for a few days and nothing changed. If anything, I believe it was starting to separate. Was expecting much better for the price. I had previously heard great things and was looking forward to trying it out. Couldn’t even consider putting it near my skin. Pass.

This came rancid, and green color. Not sure if it's because they are natural ingredients that turned this color, or something else. Will return and buy from Nordstrom.The oil is blue, but the other is a dark liquid green. It shouldn't be liquid.

Some reviews of the product talk about the color of the mask in the jar as being brown. Mine was just fine and is blue, so no worries there. The smell is pleasant and the first night I used it I felt a difference. Could be my imagination but I like to think it was the product itself. I followed up with the facial oil and my skin felt so smooth. When I run out I will definitely be purchasing more.

Just don’t get it, trust me don’t get it, at least not from here. I didn’t listen to the other reviews that said the mask was expired because I hoped they were wrong or I’d be lucky and get a good one but mine was so gross. There was a film on it and it was the swampier green color, and it smelled kinda fermented. The oil also gave me an allergic reaction.

I’m not sure I received an expired product as you can see brownish residue on the lid. The most disappointing thus far is that the product was not sealed causing me to lose a good portion of it when I opened it for the first time. I would think a liquid based formula would have a seal under the cap for preservation and to reduce spilling upon opening. Not sure about results or this project yet. But wanted to work buyers to please be careful when opening as I almost dropped the entire product down the sink on my first use.
