bentonite clay
excellent product food grade clay. Because of the constant threat of exposure to the radiation drifting in the air from Fukushima I found this as one of the recommendations to assit the body in detoxing from this radiation. I read a book about it first and follow the recommendations for daily detox. I dissolve it in water and then add V-8 juice to drink it down. No harmful affects after 9 months of taking it. I do recommend that before detoxing with food grade Clay that you read up on this first.

This is an excellent product. Now I must say that there is ...
This is an excellent product. However it does not mix very easily with water, you must actually use a blender in my experience, a little bit of work but worth the effort, use only good water and scoop in the clay, blend. I mixed quite a bit up and keep it in a glass jar in the refrigerator and it keeps fine, just spoon some out into a glass of water and drink, be sure to drink at least 2- 8oz. water with it. It is certainly much more economical than buying those small bottles already hydrated.

Clay works
This clay really saved my life two times in about a 4 week period. I took a supplement that I had an allergic reaction to. I was so sick from this reaction, passing out, swelling, extremely itchy, breathing was very difficult. I soaked in a tube with a lot of clay in it for 1 hour. When I got out of the bath, my itching was very minimal, swelling was not gone but I could breath and I could stand without passing out. This product is a got to for bites, digestive issues (i take a pill to use internally because I am a baby about the taste of drinking mud). For bites, I woke up in the middle of the night with a bunch of bites from a mosquito that was in my house. I was itching like crazy. I got up and put clay on it, let it sit about 5 minutes and went back to bed with no itching. Clay works, brand you use....research the company. I have used one bag from this company. This bag pulled me through the flu that came on me at 4:00 p.m. and I had a flight at 6:00 am the next day. I put it in a bath and soaked, the nausea and pain went away and I was able to travel. Clay works!

Great clay mask, but very difficult to mix
I've been using other natural bentonite masks for years, and have had great results treating acne and blackheads. Other brands have never presented a problem mixing, but this one is a challenge. If you're going to mix this for your face, I suggest thinking of it like cake mix: use a spatula and mix and fold until smooth, otherwise you'll NEVER get it to spread. Think of it like flour, but less absorbant. The clay seems to want to repel the water creating lots of clumps, so you kind of have to push it together with a spatula against the side of your bowl and wait for the mixture to become saturated before it finally blends. I'm not sure if this hydrophobia is a natural property of the substance or a result of the milling process, but it's a challenge. Although, once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad. I've been premixing and storing it, to avoid the burden to mixing.

Food grade, just what It's supposed to be and works well
I bought this to replace a product I was using that got discontinued. I have been using it to remove chemicals and heavy metals from my system by way of making up capsules containing the clay I take at night before I go to bed, that's when the body works on healing and detoxing it's self. I have had no issues with it all. It is simple to make up the capsules and that avoids the issue of trying to mix it in something and not tasting very good. I have been using the same bag now for well over a year and have taken a couple of capsules a day, every single day. It lasts a very long time and now I'm back for more. It is working for me, doing just what I need it to do.

I don't have the courage to mix this in a drink
Several video's on youtube suggest this as one of the ingredients in a colon cleanser. I think I'll stick with pulling the toxins out of my system through my skin. Makes one of the best facial masks I've ever used. Trick is to mix tiny bits at a time with distilled water. Once you have it creamy all you need to do is add more water or clay as needed. If you are going to take this internally I would suggest mix it thoroughly before drinking, and make sure you drink tons of water after!

Wife loves this clay as a hair treatment
My wife is Japanese and, like many Japanese citizens, tends to prefer natural offerings. She was surprised many Westerners opt to use bentonite clay for consumption as she uses it as a hair treatment. So we can't speak of how edible or palatable this clay is, but as a hair treatment, my wife swears by it. Her hair tends to gain volume through the day and get "poofy." If she uses this clay in the shower (made into a paste with filtered water) and rubs this into her hair after washing and conditioning, then her hair stays manageable all day and feels amazing! Better than anything I have ever bought for her at the grocery store. Its really hard to explain how amazing her hair feels after using this... like a salon, but even better.

Super Annoying.
I received this product and the bag says "Bath & Body" and "Warning: Do not consume." BUT, their Amazon listing says "food grade" and the picture in their Amazon listing does not show the "Do Not Consume" warning or the "Bath & Body" label. Since I bought this to make dog toothpaste and human toothpaste, the money is wasted and the product will have to be discarded. This is not the first item I've bought from Starwest, but it will absolutely be the last.

Not food grade
Product seems like it's good quality. However, listing photos need to be updated. This is not for internal use.
