Echo Show 5 (1st Gen, 2019 release) - Smart speaker with Alexa - 5.5" screen, crisp sound and 1MP camera (White)

This is my first Amazon Echo product. Got it delivered within a day. Excellent service by Amazon. Now comes to the product,1. Its very compact, portable & stylish looking gadget.2. You can use it just as a bedtime clock even without wifi connection.3. The sound quality is very good in spite of having such small size, you can also use this as a bluetooth speaker.4. The far field voice recognization works pretty well. It can register your voice from any corner of a medium to large size room.5. The smart voice assistant Alexa is quite intelligent & do some basic stuffs like setup an alarm, make some quick shopping list, play some realxing songs at night just with voice control. Also Alexa got some skills & it gets more intelligent with your usage pattern.Yes it's not as intelligent as google assistant but still it can answer some typical question like weather, news, sports update & other basic stuffs.6. It also has a inbuilt camera, so you can make video calls or use it as a intercom if you have multiple Echo show in your house. Also you can manually close the camera shutter by pressing a slider button if you want more privacy. Also thwre is volume up, down & mute button on the top of this device.7. The coolest feature is if you have invested in some smart home gadgets like smart bulb, tv, ac or smart plugs then you can control all your smart home devices just by your voice. You juat have to add your smart home gadget & link your account with Alexa. Then you can command Alaexa to do certain tasks for you like turn on tv or swithch off light etc.8. The overall build quality is quite premium. You can also connect external speakers with this if you want more sound. Overall an excellent smart home gadget that will add more style to your home interior.The Mrp of this is approx 9k which is quite expensive but in sale you will get huge discount. I got it under 5k during great Indian shopping festival. At that price this is a steal. If you really want this product, wait for the sale, the price will come down near 5k. Then you can surely grab this without any second thought.

The media could not be loaded. Compared to other smart displays the Echo Show 5 is quite a capable device at this price point. The screen though not that high a resolution is still clear enough to view the information. Home automation shortcuts could have been more well laid out, and the lag while using the device is quite noticeable.The Amazon Echo is way louder than the Echo show 5 . But here’s where the 3.5 mm jack is a saving grace, if you want to attach it to an external speaker or Hi-Fi then the internal sound wouldn't worry you much.But as a standalone speaker the sound is not bad, but being such a small device, we can't expect too much from it. Listening to podcasts, radio stations or instructional videos are fine.But this is the cheapest smart display you can get in India (i think) and the vibrant colours, the smart home functionality, video playback and the whole Alexa AI access on a device this small. I think this device would adorn more users homes as compared to other smart devices.With access to Video skills this device becomes a great companion in the kitchen to watch recipes, or catch up on your favourite soaps.

I feel Amazon Echo Show 5 is just like the amazon echo with a whole lot of new features. It’s amazing to see how Amazon steps ahead in the world of modern technology and brought us the voice assistant ‘Alexa’. Truly speaking, my life has never been easier until I found Alexa by my side. I am impressed by the way how the echo show 5 works. But all things have their flaws as well. I am going to point all the pros and cons which I have found while using this product.Pros:1) The audio quality is so good. I am watching movies on amazon prime and videos on youtube and I have to say, it is incredible. For a small 5.5inch displayed amazon echo device, I found this great and superior to amazon echo dot.2) Amazon Echo Show 5 makes the best bedside clock. Unlike echo 10.1 which used to show the clock at a corner, this shows the clock with a fullscreen display.3) I really love the sunrise effect on this device. The screen starts blooming just 15 mins prior to my alarm goes off. The light on the screen catches me off-guard and I wake up gently when the alarm starts ringing.4) I cannot express how amazing it is to control your cameras and the smart TV in your room with Amazon Echo Show 5. Everything is just so easy nowadays. Amazon’s smart home control is a game-changer.Cons:1) Amazon could have pushed further with the camera quality. I feel the camera being 1MP is too low.Overall, I am very satisfied with echo show 5. Trust me, Alexa has made my life easier. I would highly recommend this product and the price at which it comes is a back for the buck.
