Silhouette Smooth Heat Transfer, Black

Works well, it did take me a few tries of excessive ironing to keep the material from peeling off the shirt but once I got it to stick, it lasted through several washes. It was fun to make shirts with this and easy to use with my Silhouette.

I was very pleased with this product. I bought it for my daughter's 3 on 3 basketball team - I used my Cricut to cut their numbers and names for the backs of their shirts. It was easy to cut and super easy to iron on to the shirt. I was very impressed and will be ordering more to create family reunion shirts!

I followed the directions for this material to the letter but after repeated frustration I am throwing in the towell. The material simply didn't end up sticking to the fabric. I tried applying more and less pressure, applying heat for longer and shorter amounts of time, and the design never stuck. Bloody disappointing and I bought two roles of this junk. I love my silhouette but this product stinks.

I'm not sure what was wrong with this product, I used the white vinyl with no problems, but the Black vinyl had problems sticking to the shirts. The images cut fine, but the iron on process was terrible.

So, this stuff is great. When you iron it onto your fabric it looks so professional! However, my disappointment came from wasted product. When I cut paper on my Silhouette it is exact enough to cut right to the edge. I expected the same from this, but the machine isn't able to grab onto it as well as the paper on the cutting mat. It still worked, but I had to plan to leave a good sized margin on each side of the transfer material, making my designs smaller than I wanted and forcing me to waste quite a bit of the material (which is a big deal when the stuff retails for $5/foot!) Also, I tried to do a long design down the length of the material but once i got about 6" to the end of the roll the machine wasn't able to grab hold of it at all. Next time I will try to use that last bit on it's own (so, cut down to a small piece rather than to keep it attached to another foot of material). I don't know if that will help, but anything's got to be better than what I did. My whole long design was ruined completely!

Only thing I don't like about this product is you have to set a stopwatch and not go over the time window (in the directions) or else your product melts to the transfer sheet and then the whole thing doesn't work well. For small designs (infant / toddler onesies) it works fine because the design is small enough to fit in the width of my iron, for a t-shirt for my husband...it didn't work as great but was still fine. Parts heated up more than others, some parts shrunk (was doing a two colored design) etc. So just be careful and quick is my advice.

Worked great! Washes great! No problems at all! The smooth heat transfer goes on more quickly than the flocked heat transfer!!

I recently ordered a heat press and was anxious to try my hand at HTV. I ordered this color in the Silhouette brand since they also had the teal color I needed. It cut beautifully, weeded easily and layered seamlessly! I couldn't believe how well my first project (a shirt) came out--I felt like such a professional!! LOL Can't wait to do more projects!

It worked perfectly the first time. The color is a deep, solid black. I haven't washed the item I put it on, so not sure how it holds up long term
