Monroe Shocks & Struts OESpectrum 5786 Shock Absorber

This was a great stock replacement for my 2005 Pontiac GTO.I've done my homework on shocks and struts for the GTO and the Monroe Sensatracs are designed for STOCK HEIGHT SPRINGS. Check out ls1gto.com if you're interested in details.I initially replaced just the shocks and kept the old springs in to see how much of a difference it made.[New Shocks + Old Springs]PROS-Less bounciness on freeways-Stiffer but still a smooth ride-Better control in rear while cornering-A great price!CONS-More susceptible to bumps on road (but it's not that bad ;-)I later replaced the saggy rear springs with Lovells stock height springs. Newer GTO's are prone to having "the rear sag".[New Shocks + New Springs]PROS-Even less bounciness on freeways-Even stiffer ride, but not too harsh-MUCH better control in rear while cornering-No scraping of my wheels when I have a full loadCONS-A bit more susceptible to bumps on road (but again, it's not that bad ;-)Great for the price! If you have enough in your budget to replace the old springs, these Monroe Sensatracs compliment stock height springs very well!

These rear shocks were replaced on a car with 66,000 miles. I should have done this job a while ago but did not realize how bad the suspension had gotten until one of the original factory struts began to make noises when I hit a bump. I replaced all struts and shocks with the Monroe Sensa-trac struts and shocks and could not be happier. Through Amazon, the price was the best and I was able to get a rebate for one of the shocks as long as I purchased all of the struts and shocks at the same time. My car drives like new again.

bushings that came with them were pretty cruddy. Very small. Washers were a bit low gauge as well.
