Yes, the flow is controlled by a button on the top of the can. You simply press the button for 1-2 seconds while inhaling and release while exhaling. This means the product lasts much longer.

I used it and found it fine and I've got a beard too. I did hold the mask slightly to ensure a better seal and only had a few breaths at a time, but the elastic would fit most head shapes and sizes I would think.

Whats the expiry on a can? Once you use it, does it have a use by? Will it stay on the shelf ok for months, or supposed to be used soon after purchase

The expiry date is usually around 2 years. It does not have a use by date just an expiry date.
