The most geeky and disabled friendly cookbook I've used in a while
As a wheelchair user with hypermobility type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, I'm forever on the lookout for new recipes that are going to cut the time in the kitchen and make it easier for me to produce healthier and more diverse meals, without popping a joint out of place. When I heard that one of my favourite actors/authors/voiceover artists was bringing out a cookbook with a friend of hers who is also a wheelchair user, I signed up for the pre-order straight away. Before I posted my review to Amazon/Goodreads I wanted to get a feel for the recipes as well as the style of the book.I love the 8-bit retro gaming style of the book. It's fun and retro. The graphics take me back to my Sega gaming days, and in some instances my Atari gaming days (yes I know I don't look that old, but that's the reality of it). The layout is simple and easy to read, although I would have preferred pages that I could wipe clean (just because I do tend to make a mess in the kitchen), but then a recipe book without a few stains isn't a well-loved recipe book and this one is definitely well loved - I use it a minimum of 5 days a week. The recipes are easy to adapt to fit any dietary needs. The tidbits that tie them in with the games are fun to read and the helpful Snack Hacks provided alongside the more complex recipes make cooking an absolute pleasure again. Whilst someone in my position might take a little longer on prep time than is necessarily stated on some of the recipes, it's definitely worth investing in a copy. Especially if you're a disabled geek like me who is cooking for one (or two).Recipes for more than one person are easily reduced to smaller amounts, or in some cases, leftovers are just as good the next day or after freezing. It's amazing what a tub of homemade caramel can go with... I'm still finding things it tastes great with and I think I'm on pot four or five. And all that whilst still managing to lose weight and go down a dress size just by cooking and eating the recipes in the book rather than relying on convenience foods.A mini-food chopper for the veg and an electric whisk may come in handy, but other than that, be prepared for some fantastic recipes, some amazing stories, and food that will tantalise your tastebuds. I've been having so much fun reviewing individual recipes on my instagram.Thank you, Claudia and Mark, for reigniting my love affair with cooking and good food.

Buy it, try it, you won't regret it.
Bought this as I am a fan and have watched her coming videos too. First one I tried was the cauliflower steaks. Highly recommend having a go, I used my own seasoning rather than the one suggested and it was delicious. I don't normally cook anything adventurous.Well worth the price.
