do these ear plugs reduce noise?

Absolutely! I find them to be very similar in perceived noise reduction as the "foam" style ear plugs. Although Mack's does not advertise this model as a noise reduction earplug, or give an attenuation rating, they still are very effective in that application. Additionally, I find they are very easy to insert, and are extremely comfortable to wear, particularly for extended periods. They are also very durable and washable. Mack's does have a similar model, marketed specifically for noise reduction, that is rated at 27db attenuation.

do these fit children's ears?

Yes. My granddaughter started wearing them when she was 9 and won't wear any other brand. She loves them. She has had 3 sets of ear tubes and wears them swimming, bath, shower, anywhere she is going to be around water. They work really well.

On the macks label -- why are they called mens one size? are these one size, for everyone, or are they a size made for men??
