This is a great steamer - highly recommend. Puts out really hot steam, NO sputtering, works a full 20 minutes. I do use distilled water. Glad I went with an established brand - Revlon - instead of the weird ones I've never heard of.

PortabilityThis steamer is nice and light and can be used just about anywhere. There is a small reservoir for the water, but surprisingly it puts out steam for quite a long time. (15 and 20 minutes) Press the power button once for 15 minutes and a second time for 20 minutes .Press it a third time to turn it off. It is a corded unit so you need to have a power outlet nearby .(about 4 feet long)StylingThe shape of the steamer is convenient because you can set it on a flat surface and the steam comes out of a positional nozzle. This helps direct the steam more precisely where you want it. You can only position the nozzle while the unit is off, otherwise you will burn your fingers. This does not have a handle but the body of the steamer which is shaped like an egg, is light enough to pick up and move around.FunctionalityThe steam is quite hot, so you may want to heed the recommendation of keeping your skin at least eight inches away from the steamer to avoid a burn. It helps to open up pores and aids in removing dirt and impurities from your skin. I use this steamer to get better absorption of my moisturizer to avoid eczema breakouts. It is also useful when you have a cold or sinus congestion.UtilizationIn order to keep this facial steamer working properly, make sure to use distilled water in order to avoid the unit from becoming clogged and damaged due to hard minerals in tap water. To fill with water, all you need to do is remove the water container from the back of the unit by pushing it upwards. Then unscrew the plastic cap and fill with your distilled water. Replace the water reservoir and turn on the unit. It only takes about a minute for the steamer to put out steam.This facial steamer works very well for me and I would recommend it to anyone to add to their beauty arsenal.

(I put the steamer close to the wall to take the pics so you'd be able to see the amount of steam it emits)I decided to try the Revlon Illuminating Facial Steamer for a few weeks before writing my review to see if I noticed any changes to my skin.The machine itself is bigger than I expected. I dont' mean to imply that its overly huge, I just pictured something smaller. It fits nicely on my bathroom counter and its lighter than i expected. The instructions are simple to follow. One thing to ALWAYS remember is to make sure you fill the tank with water EVERY SINGLE TIME you use it to the level line marked on the tank. When you've finished using it, dump the excess water from the tank. Don't reuse it, fill it again each time you use the system. And make sure the system is UNPLUGGED when you fill the water tank and insert it into the steamer. Make sure the system is UNPLUGGED when you remove the water tank from the system as well.It takes roughly 40 seconds after turning it on for the steam to come out. Do NOT put your face right up against the nozzle. Do not touch the nozzle when its in use, the nozzle gets HOT. Read the directions so you know how close to get to the steamer so you don't get burned. The tank provides 20 minutes of steam as long as you fill it up to the water level line prior to turning the system on.The steamer has a built in timer which you can control and the instructions clearly explain how to set/use the timer. A light will come on around the on/off switch when the system has run out of water.Cleaning the system is easy. Make sure to discard all water remaining in the tank and use a towel to dry out the system.I use the Revlon facial steamer 2-3 times per week for approx. 10 minutes each time. I have extremely sensitive skin. SO many products cause me to break out. I have eczema as well. My eczema is very mild at this time of the year, thankfully, but I still have some itching. The very first time I used the Revlon Illuminating Facial Steamer, I noticed a different in my skin. The very FIRST TIME! My skin felt GOOD when I finished. I know that's a pathetic description, but it did. My face felt good and very refreshed. My concern was that I felt that way since this is a new product for me to use and eventually, that feeling would stop happening. It has not. Every single time I use this, my skin feels and LOOKS great. I do sometimes apply a light layer of unscented lotion to my face after I do a treatment. My skin is so soft. It kind of reminds me a child's delicate, soft skin and not what it actually is... skin belonging to someone who is in her mid-40's, who has experienced too many incidents of sunburn, makeup use, eczema etc. And that is thanks to the Revlon Illuminating Facial steamer. It really is.I will be going on vacation soon for a few days and my Revlon steamer will be coming along, no doubt about it. This steamer is now a part of my routine and will remain that way.And BTW...this isn't just for women. My husband uses it as well and he loves it. And speaking of him...while this isn't what the steamer is supposed to be used for, I thought I'd mention this anyway. Somehow, he got a cold. Its the middle of summer and somehow, he managed to catch a cold. (We did go to a casino not long before he got sick, he probably picked up germs there?) He happened to be using the steamer on his face and realized he was having a much easier time breathing through his stuffy nose thanks to the steam. I"m NOT suggesting anyone should use this in place of a vaporizer/humidifier, but I just wanted to mention that he did get some relief from his stuffy nose after using this!You deserve to be pampered. Get yourself a Revlon Illuminating Facial Steamer, relax and ENJOY. You are going to look and feel so much better!

These folks are nice about sending a new machine, but my replacement did the same thing as my original did. Stops in a minute or two, at the first use. Tried all troubleshooting. I am not going to get a 3rd replacement. Too bad, I really like the design and the quality.
