Seiko Pressage Automatic Dress Watch with 41mm Case, and Sapphire Crystal SARY055

Hey Sports fans. The Presage SARY055, a very beautiful timepiece, a must have for your collection. I'd like to get the negative out of the way first. My only gripe is with the bracelet, how there's a slight gap (on the clasp) when you close it shut. Having said that, I find the bracelet to be very comfortable. Only having to remove one link, as I have a large wrist. I found the accuracy to be very good. No where near as bad as advertised here on Amazon, even the Seiko Japan web-site. After my first three days with this Seiko, I found it to be only +7sec. fast per day. However, when not on my wrist, it was up to +12sec. per day. That seems to be consistent with a few reviews I've read. Until now. *Update, entering my fourth week with this SARY055, she's giving me better accuracy than I first had anticipated. After three days of not being on my wrist, and keeping her wound at least twice a day, I found a gain of only +6sec. total, in that 72 hours. Now that I'm very happy with. This lovely Seiko, will continue to be in my rotation. As far as appearance, well that's really subjective. I too have found that the hands are really more of a very, very dark blue, almost black. From other reviews, I knew this going in, but had no problem with that. It still looks beautiful to me, and offers better contrast for a quick glimpse at the time. The case is quite lovely, with its brushed, polished, brushed look. The silver / white dial is very beautiful. The crown feels very nice, and is indeed hand winding and hackable. Also, the 'S' engraving on crown, is a nice touch too. I can also confirm that the lugs are 22mm, not 20mm. I think it's neat to switch between English and the Japanese (Kanji) language on the day window. The date switches over first just after midnight, followed by the day. Worth noting, if you have it set to English, it will flip to the Kanji first (after midnight), then after a few hours, back to English. When at the 6 o'clock position, set the day & date to the day before. Then advance time forward to today's day, and you'll understand what I mean. Overall, I'm very happy with this Seiko SARY055, my very first JDM, and I trust you'll be happy too. I would definitely recommend this very nice timepiece to family and friends. Have a great day.

This is an attractive watch. I love having the Kanji day wheel ! Solid end links and sapphire crystal features are great to see on this watch. The bracelet is not too bad and matches the watch well. I wish it didn't have a stamped clasp but the bigger issue is that there is only one micro adjustment available so in my case I am not able to get perfect sizing on wristThe movement on this watch hacks and hand winds. I like that it is a made in Japan model Seiko. The watch is a great buy at under 400$ in my opinion.Oddly, when I opened the box upon arrival, there was no product tag, and no protective film on the bracelet. It seemed like it was just thrown in the box as it wasnt even wrapped around its pillow. It did have a film on the crystal but it looked quite old and left behind a residue that I was able to remove. All this said, I looked over the watch and could find no issues or damage on it. I also had never encountered a pin and collar bracelet before so sizing the bracelet was an ordeal for me as I initially lost 2 collarsA great add to anyone's collection if you are OK with no lume on the dial at all

This watch is fantastic. The dial looks amazing in person. The way it reflects light reminds me of vinyl records. It's just beautiful.Cameras exaggerate the blue of the hands, but the blue comes out nicely under office lights.The display back reveals a lightly decorated movement with a bold, skeletonized, bronzed pendulum.All of my Seikos are very accurate, but I really won the lottery with the watch I got. I can't say this for every SARY055 but mine is running to within a second per day when I wear it. I left it with the dial facing up for 24 hours and I gained just under 3 seconds. With the dial pointed down, I lost just under 2. While I would love to credit this to Seiko's engineering department as a design feature, I think I just got lucky that mine drifts in different directions at about the same rate, making it appear to be accurate to the second.If you're comparing this to the SARB line, I would say this one is better. The dial is deeper and the finish on it is much more dynamic in the light. It has a day and a date function where the SARBs only have date. Mine has the days of the week in English and in Japanese.This one lacks the lume that the SARBs have, but that's not a bad thing. It's a dressy watch. It's not supposed to have lume.The bracelet is way better than the one on the SARB line, but the clasp is slightly inferior. I wish it had more than two micro-adjustment points. That's probably the biggest thing wrong with it for me since my wrist changes size throughout the day.Apart from that, this watch has spoiled me. The immediate step up from this in terms of quality might actually be the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra.

First impression is very good . I’m glad Seiko didn’t waist a lot of money on the box ( I’m looking at you Swiss watch’s ) . Box is fine just cardboard .Love the dark navy hands against the silver face . Face is interesting , lightly brushed silver with a hint of off white .Face is not cluttered but useful , day date with a smooth second hand .Good coating on the shappire glass , my Hamilton kaki is like a mirror in comparison .Can be dress or casual, I have a G-Shock for the hard use jobs .Ordered a Horween band for it .So far it’s gaining 5 seconds a day .Bracelet is good not great , may or may not replace it . What let’s the bracelet down is the clasp , it’s nice and small but lacks adjustment . Small gap where it fits together .Overall I like this watch it’s not overly shiny like some watches .Looks and feels like quality, movement is almost silent . It’s a keeper

The watch I received was a fake. It had a 7S26 movement which did not hand-wind or hack, it didn't have a gold rotor and it didn't have a sapphire crystal. The day wheel on a genuine SARY055 is English/Kanji, not English and french. The dial had been misaligned when it was replaced so the date and day did not line up.

普段はいわゆる高級時計を回し使いしていますが、立場上真面目謙虚に見えなくてはいけないとき、この時計が重宝します。欧州のブランド時計も、もちろんGSも好きなのですが、人によってはいやらしいと受け取られるリスクがあることも世代的には気にしないといけない場合もあります。そうはいっても、美しくない時計はつけたくないし、ましてはデジタルも生理的に無理。という方にはとてもお勧めです。安い。美しい。装着感も適度である。白い文字盤、群青の針が清潔感があり、またセイコーというまじめさを伝えるメリットもある。なんというか、１世代前のクラウンにノーマルで乗っている人、というようなイメージですかね。良い時計だと思います。

I'm enjoying this watch a lot. I was considering this one vs. the SARB035 and chose this for the dark blue hands - though note that they're very dark blue, depending on the light they will often look almost black. Good power reserve and nice feel to the crown when winding or setting it. It's also easier to use for adjusting the date than other watches I've had (ie. less finicky to get to the intermediate position for date adjustment).I've been keeping it on the bracelet which is a really nice quality (Seiko is often criticized for the bracelets or straps on their less expensive watches), though I have a dark blue leather strap as well and think they'll go really well together.

ずっしりとした重さ、高級感、きらきらとした時計盤の輝き、高い精度に満足。使い始めて日が浅いが、精度は日差+3秒程度。仕様上の日差+45秒～-35秒を十分に満たしており、SEIKOを買って良かったと感じている。使っていくにつれて、誤差は広がってくると思うが、朝、秒針を合わせれば、実用上問題なく使用できそう。オーバーホールしながら、長く大事に使っていきたい。
