Makes banana cakes taste like they used to
The last time I was able to eat a banana was about 1980, when a latex allergy kicked in. And I LOVED bananas. And I loved the banana cakes my gramma would make with the cream cheese frosting. When I realized I could eat them again this year I immediately made my gramma's banana cake and almost cried. The bananas we have now, even brown with ripeness- are NOT the same as the ones we grew up with! That strain no longer is on the market due to a virus that wiped out the crops and these dull, unsweet bananas have taken their place. But a tablespoon of this extract in the banana cake made it perfection! Exactly like it used to taste.I read one review where the person wrote it tasted like banana candy. Well- here's the thing: the old strain of bananas WERE that fragrant, sweet and floral. The current ones arent. So if you want the flavor of bananas you grew up with: buy this extract. Its the real flavor of fragrant ripe bananas.

This is my first time w/extract and it’s good.
Love bananas but sometimes the fruit itself isn’t right and the extract is good.

pretty good, especially at this price point
Performs well in coffee on its own or combined with chocolate extract.

Not great ..
I had been searching for a banana extract for quite some time, I wanted a Banana extract that was similar to one that I used to get many years ago. I can't remember the brand name, but it was great. I would make zucchini bread and add the banana extract with the ingredients and for many years when my children were young they thought they were eating "banana bread" because it smelled and tasted like banana bread. This Olive Nation brand would never have fooled them, it does not have the scent of real banana nor does it flavor the bread like the old brand I was accustomed to. I made 2 loaves of banana bread using 6 banana's for the batch , added not one but 2 tsps. of this Olive Nation extract and you would never even know I added any. I think next time I will add 2 TBS. and see if that makes a difference. I would have thought 2 tsps. would have been enough but apparently not.As my husband was eating a slice of the bread he stated , it taste like banana bread and smells pretty good. I said it should I actually used real banana's in it not just the extract ! He had thought I made zucchini bread. So as I stated it is not going to be one of my favorite items and I wouldn't purchase it again, I will use what I have and keep searching for the old brand I loved. This is not bad , just not the best I have ever used. It lacks flavor and scent.

Yummy
Sometimes in baking banana bread...the bananas are not as flavorful as I'd like. I add a couple of drops at a time until the batter tastes as I expect it to. In these occassions..what a difference. Great product

IT'S BANANA!!
This extract is a home run. It tastes just like banana. I'm on a keto diet and bananas have too much sugar. I use this to make banana milk and banana pudding. I have yet to make a milkshake but I'm confident it will work. I don't miss bananas now.Just to get a sense of how much to use--banana milk recipe: 4 oz heavy cream, 8 oz water, 3 drops sucralose, 2 tsp banana extract, a bit of vanilla. Shake with ice.
