Festool497514 Kapex KS 120 UG Trimming Attachment Extension Set, Metric Scale

First a couple of disclaimers. A lot of people I think are getting this confused on what it can hook onto. It will mount to the kapex by taking off the extension wings. It will also mount to the standard MFT/three. A little finicky but it works one set up. It will not attach to the Festool kapex MFT! That table is too short. What I like about this product is not only is it portable but if I ever get a bigger shop in the future the legs Fold under and the system can be screwed down to a table. At the exact height of the kapex. No more fiddling around lowering the saw trying to set up a chopsaw station. Ridiculously over priced but everything is with festival. Ben Marshall on YouTube has some great videos on it especially had to put the darn things away if you’ve had them out for a while and cannot remember how to get them back in their carrier! I am very happy with these extensions as they are easy to use and are accurate. They are easy to set up and take down which saves space in my workshop. High quality too.

These extensions fit directly on the Kapex saw, clamping to the saw exactly the same way the 494369 Miter Saw Crown Stop Base Extensions do. The base extensions must first be removed. Extensions will work with the 497351 UG-Kapex Wheeled stand and the MFT/3-Kapex Multifunction Table. If you're considering using with the Wheeled stand, buy the stand and extensions in a single package.If you plan on using these extensions with the MFT/3 table the area between the saw and the table provides rather limited room to tighten the clamp screws. Consider boring a hole in the table top and extending the clamping screw with some threaded rod - so the knob can be tightened from below the table surface.I find the MFT/3 table and extensions provides cuts with extreme smoothness and accuracy.If your shop is like mine, real-estate is precious. you find yourself temporarily moving things to meet the needs of projects as you do them. Trading a permanently located chop-saw station for the Kapex table and extensions gives added flexibility with no sacrifice in accuracy or cut quality.

Does everything as advertised very well if you take the time to set it up and level it properly.

I foolishly bought the stand and the mitre saw without these. Once added, these transform the set-up. Very expensive but in the end I bit the bullet and ..... They are very strong and easy to use. I especially like the way I no longer need to do very much measuring - the stops ensure repeatable cuts with accuracy. Perfect? Almost, the way they fasten on to the saw base is awkward and if you unscrew the locking bolt too far it is painful to find all the bits and fit it all back together. After a while you get used to the set-up. Other negatives: none technically but the instruction book needs a re-write. Overall I rate this a a great buy.

Festool brilliance. I use these for cutting down longer pieces. They can also both be used on one side of the table, to cut sheet goods. As other reviews have mentioned, they were a little fiddly to attach to my MFT/3 (they attach in the V track) due to the short locking screws, but its doable. I may modify them slightly in the future by adding a spacer or getting longer screws. The carrying "case" is a nice addition, and protects the legs during transit.
