This product will give you a lot of fun and allow you to finally find a use for all that junk mail you get! There is a bit of a learning curve, mainly because the blue straining sheet is described as white in the instructions, but once you get beyond that, it is great! The instruction leaflet also gives you a template for making envelopes (though you have to use other paper to do so, as the size of the finished hand made paper is too small), as well as instructions for embedding leaves, ribbon, etc, into the paper for a decorative effect. I would recommend that for you first attempt you use more shredded paper than they say--it is a bit difficult to fully cover the straining sheet with the amount suggested. I've used this several times over the past two weeks, and all parts are holding up, though the couch sheets are getting worn and the sponge is starting to tear.

Making paper from scraps around the house is addicting. Let me just warn you right now. I am a paper crafter and I usually buy specialty papers from craft stores to make cards. This product is great because I can save my small scraps and turn them into beautiful recycled full sheets. All you need in addition to this kit is 1.) a blender, to mix your paper with water and turn it to pulp, 2.) a bin or tub that is a little larger than the wooden deckle to hold about 2 inches of water, and 3.) an iron if you want to have your new paper ready to use in MINUTES. This seems like a lot of money, but the great thing is that you can use the kit over and over for as long as you wish to create unique new pieces of paper!

It's a great kit for those of us who are just starting to learn how to make paper. I made my first sheet at the first try. The instructional DVD is also very helpful. It's a very simple DVD, but Arnold is great at explaining the process.

Everything you need to start making your own paper except recycled paper and a blender. I expect it to last a LONG time.

This is definitely getting a workout in my house!
