I've used soap berries off and on for the past few years and always return to them after trying different detergents. While the soap berries work well for me, I find the liquid concentrate easier to use in the long run. My clothes are always soft and clean when I use NaturOil and I don't need to use dryer sheets or fabric softener. Darks stay dark and my whites and light colored clothing always come out looking great. I do pretreat any greasy stains although I never really find stains when using this. I have extremely hard water and therefore usually use one more squirt (3 total) in my top loader which makes me go through it faster. A small amount of water softener (Calgon or Charlie's Soap Booster) helps with that although I don't use on dark colors. Works well in a pinch for cleaning household surfaces and has been a great floor cleaner on my hardwood. Some folks like fragrance in their laundry (I do, too, sometimes) but this will not leave any scent in your clothes, sheets or towels. It's great for keeping towels absorbent. Some reviewers have said it isn't great at clothes that are very dirty. I don't usually have that much dirt/grime/oil in my clothing and have not had any problems with this. I do, however, wash my cleaning rags in a more traditional detergent since they are pretty grimy but end up washing a quick second load to get the residue off before drying.

After trying every "Natural" "dye and fragrance free" laundry soap I could find I was still in a desperate search for a laundry soap that didn't make us break out in a rash or smell like horrible perfume or chemicals. This laundry soap is the real deal! It not only cleans the clothes it eliminates the need for softener! It leaves them smelling really clean like they should be! I have a very large washer so I use two or three (if it's really dirty) pumps instead of the recommended one. Sometimes I add baking soda to the whites. Be warned when we first started using it it took a while to clean the "gunk" out of our used washing machine. It literally took our washing machine through a detox; it even runs better and no longer smells! WOW! Be prepared for the scary stuff that is going to be cleansed out of your washer and clothes! I highly recommend doing at least one or two empty/hot wash cycles in your washer before washing any clothes because the "gunk" WILL re-deposit on your clothes if they are in the washer with it! Ask me how I know. This is a must for any person with chemical sensitivities or anyone who just wants clean clothes. Not poisoning our families and the environment is a huge bonus to an already great product. I finally found a laundry soap that my daughter does NOT break out from! To me, that is priceless.

Being extremely chemically sensitive has led me on a very long quest for a laundry detergent that meets my sensitivity needs and one that also does everything needed for clean, soft laundry. I have used many "fragrance free" products that have left a subtle scent on clothes that was difficult for me since I also have a heightened sense of smell. Some of those products left the clothes feeling harsh or faded. THIS product is amazing. It sounds costly but, believe me, it is worth it. One spritz is all you need for a load of clothes, the clothes come out of the dryer softer so there is no need for chemical softener and poisonous dryer sheets. We've used it to shampoo our dog whose hair had been dull from other products. I couldn't be in the house when the dog was being washed with doggie shampoos because of the chemicals. We use this detergent for just about everything. Environmentally sound, wonderful for the clothes, incredible for health issues related to chemicals and harsh cleaning products. We also use the ALTA dish liquid, which we find leaves the dishes clean bright and shiny but I have to admit is probably too expensive for a large family. I am unable to wear gloves to wash dishes and was using Seventh Generation dish liquid but the SLS (SO bad for skin) was harsh on my system. Just because a product says it is unscented doesn't mean it doesn't have harmful chemicals. Give this company a try if your pocketbook permits. You won't be sorry.

I have been using this product for several years. It is nontoxic and it lasts a long time. I took off one star because it is so expensive now. Still, worth it for us purists.

I'm looking for a more all around Eco-Friendly life without having to make crazy changes to my lifestyle and decided give this a shot. While harsh bleach could do the job, I coincidentally spilled coffee on my white shorts after this arrived. It worked wonders and took the stain out, everything is clean and smells good (as in my workout shirts don't smell gross, but fragrance free). I highly recommend the product. Bottle is extremely small due to the concentration of 18x. Easy to carry if you're using an apartment/dorm/laundromat a distance away. No need to do any measuring, 1 squirt for an HE load, 2 for a standard load. No mess. Really convenient. A tip though, make sure to undo the squirt top before inserting it into the bottle, that way it lets the detergent go up the squirt top straw. I put it in without doing that and it caused the detergent to overflow. With the high concentration I probably lost like 2-3 loads of detergent, but I think the cost per load is low enough compared to standard detergents I'm still saving money while going all natural. I wasn't expecting it to remove a stain like that since it's only supposed to be a detergent so I'm also picking up a similar eco-friendly (dye/fragrance free, no chlorine/phosphates/biodegradable, non-toxic, natural ingredients, no animal testing) bleach alternative like I normally would if I was doing laundry since I shouldn't expect a detergent to act as bleach/stain remover all the time. Not to mention a lot of the alternatives can also be used on non-whites. It definitely did more than I would expect from a detergent on one of those classically hard to remove stains, hence the 5 stars. Hope this was of some help to those deciding on an eco-friendly detergent.

I love love love all natural products that work! My husband has a mowing business so I cant get away with using this on his pants and crusty socks. But i use thks on everything else. It works especially well for my baby girls cloth diapers. Since you want to use a natural soap for anything they use. And so the diapers dont get a residue and cause them not to absorb as well. I also use this soap to wash her clothes. Ill use this soap for my stuff as well. Although I use more squirts than recomended. Ill use maybe 5 for a large load. 10 squirts for her cloth diapers. But to find a 100% all natural soap that works! And is not harmful whatsoever! Sign me up all day everyday! Only thing con I can think of is you need to put it water while the washers filling uo to dilute it. If you put it directly on clothing. Sometimes it wont completley rinse out and will discolor the clothing. But if its mixed into the water before hand. There is no problem whatsoever. Also the smell is not bad at all. But it is natural. So dont expect it to have the same effect as the chemical soaps your used to using.

Have used the nuts as my form of natural/organic washer cleaner but needed something that was portable for my vacation instead of using the nuts. As I had purchased the nut bag, a small bottle of concentrate came along and so I used this on my vacation and found it to be just as though I was using the nuts for cleaning. Since I did not want to use the nuts, at times they attach on my clothes and need to remove them became a minor concern. Now with the bottle of concentrate, I can not worry about the nuts and note that the concentrate allows me to use it as small amount which will last quite awhile and the product works like using the nuts (residue). Finally, I can purchase what I want to use for organic/natural product in a liquid form.
