Useful & sturdy, for my travel bag.
Terrific. Feels sturdier than a $15 tool. I got it for air travel, will update this review if TSA takes it away.*Update: Have flown with it a fair amount, domestic and overseas, and has never been a problem. However, it does look suspicious to some agents and they will sometimes ask to see it. A helpful agent suggested that for items like that — that may look funny in the X-ray — that it's easiest to have it out and just throw it in the container with your keys, phone, etc... rather than having it buried in your bag. Makes everyone's life easier.

I love the multitool
I love the multitool! I purchased the dime travel after reading countless reviews. I took it with me on a 2 week medical mission trip. It's lightweight and very useful. It's a little larger than the size of a lighter. It performed perfectly and was incredibly useful during the trip*WARNING*the multitool was confiscated by TSA on my return flight. I had it attached to a key chain on my back packs main pocket. I pulled it out so it was hanging outside my bag before going through customs. I did this too to show TSA that I had it and so they could examine it. On the return flight when they said they wanted to confiscated it I told them that it didn't have a blade and even pulled out some of the tools to show them. They said I couldn't fly with it and had to check it or they would take it.Just wanted to give everyone a warning because I read all the reviews and even some of the youtube reviews that said it was ok to travel with so i purchased it with confidence. Unfortunately that wasn't the case when I flew. It made it out on the initial flight but not on the return flight.Besides that warning, I would purchase this again as an every day carry item. I just wouldn't take it with me on any flights

Not Durable
I thought this would be a handy tool for travel. First of all, although it is marketed as travel friendly, i.e. no blades, I’ve lost count of how many times I was held up by TSA at the airports due to this mini tool. The last time the TSA officer insisted on opening every tool to ensure it was indeed blade less! As far as durability, the first time I tried to use the pliers something in the handle bent and I can no longer open the pliers, when I try to unfold, only one side of the pliers will open and I can’t figure out what is impeding the other half from opening. Lastly, while trying to fix the pliers one of the screws that secures the handle scales popped off, I was not even trying to remove them. Very disappointed as I’ve always considered Gerber to be a reliable brand.

I Like This
After getting the Gerber Dime, I saw there was a bladeless version out. It looks like this will compare tot he Leatherman Style PS, except this has more tools. All measurements are from my measure; not a website description. The pliers are nice. There's no wobble in them, and the wire cutters (they're about 1/4" in length) can cut coat hanger (about the heaviest thing I'd try them on) without deforming. The plier portion (5/16" in length, opening to 5/8" wide) turns small bolts easily, and the needlenose part (3/8" long and opening to just under 7/8" wide) helps out as much as that on the Leatherman. The last 1/16" of the needlenose are smooth, which is a welcome feature. The ability to grasp fine things is nice. The pliers are 1/8" thick and are spring-loaded (one spring is in each handle). I like the spring feature. The pivot pin, for those interested, is 5/32" thick. The pliers are the only "inside" tool; all of the other tools are accessed without opening the pliers. Instead of repeating the same sentences in each tool description, it's here...None of the tools lock open, which I knew before buying, but is worth mentioning. Also, all of the tools open with a nail nick. Out of the box, all of the tools were stiff. As in, almost broke my fingernails trying to get them out stiff. This was easily fixed with some Tuff Glide, but is something to note. All of the tools on the outside are 1/16" thick. A few people have reported the handles rubbing together when opening, creating early wear marks. My Dime doesn't do that. The Dime's pivots also use Torx (T-8) screws, but if you plan to adjust them, you'll need two bits. One to hold, and one to turn, since Gerber uses blue LocTite on them. It's very possible to strip the head off, so go slow. If I didn't say before, the Dime is 2-3/4" long if you count the bottle opener and 1/2" thick. It weighs 2.1 ounces. The first side of the handle contains:The bottle opener is fixed in position (it can't move) and measures 5/8" long. It's really two folded-over parts of the same tool, joined by a pin. The bottle opener is the full thickness of the Dime, and does very well in opening bottles. It also makes a nice lightweight prying tool in general. Right underneath the bottle opener is a small tab. Pull it to reveal the tweezers. They're very Wenger-like, in that they're two pieces of metal, soldered together. The tweezers are 1-5/8" long and meet at a 40-degree tip. They open to 1/8" wide. They're nice and springy, but will also hold fine items without flexing a lot.The file is nice, and a welcome change from the abysmal one on the regular Dime. It's 1-1/2" long and is ground on both sides. One side is double-cut while the other is single-cut; the underside isn't cut at all, so you can't groove with it or use it as a metal saw. It retains the "belly" of the Dime's blade. The hook is also 1-1/2" long, and they're calling it a zipper puller. I've found a few uses for it, including tightening boot laces and retrieving small objects from under the car seat. The black side of the handle contains:The split ring is a bit small, but usable. I've had no problems with strength or durability in mine. The scissors are 1-1/2" long with a 5/8" cutting surface. They open to 3/8" wide. A small tab prevents them from opening more, but I don't like this as it will make the scissors hard to sharpen once they dull. The scissors are spring-loaded. I would like this, except the spring on mine always jumps over the moving arm, requiring me to use another tool to get it out. This happens every time, and it makes having the scissors a problem. The flathead screwdriver is 5/8" long and has a 1/4" wide tip. It works fine. There's nothing more to really say about it. It works very well as a scraper. The small driver is problematic. It's a small flathead / Phillips screwdriver at the tip. It works fine for this, but with the Dime closed, the non-movable bottle opener really limits the driver's length. It's only 5/8" long to start with. If you remember the regular Dime, then you remember the file was on the sides of this tool. Those have been removed since there's a dedicated file on the Dime Travel.I like the Dime Travel. It seems that Gerber has tightened their quality control, and made a very useful product. Even though I don't air travel much, I think this is a great set of tools. I normally have a knife (or four) on me anyways, so the lack of one here doesn't bother me.

I hate the bottle opener that sticks out of one end
I've pinches my skin in this twice so far trying to close it up. I hate the bottle opener that sticks out of one end, as I thought that folded up somehow but it doesn't.

Great for EDC and going places that don't allow blades.
My wife and I both work at companies with draconian weapons policies (i.e. cannot even have a box cutter in your car), but we like to be prepared for emergencies. This works great in our roadside kits, as it gives us the convenience of a multitool, without risking getting us fired for having it.These things are super small (like 2" long when closed), so they easily fit in a pocket if you want one for EDC.

Excellent tool
Have been carrying one of these for about a year, including multiple flights around Europe and beyond without any trouble.

prodotto ottimo
il prodotto corrisponde alla descrizione anche se sarebbe meglio avesse anche una lama per tagliare ( anche se.. visto che si chiama "travel" non penso si possa, con la lama, portarlo in aero...=

Me encanta! Me lo imaginaba menos robusto, pero es un pequeño tanque. Me han decepcionado las tijeras, cortan menos y peor que las de Victorino y Leatherman. Por lo demás estupendo.

Poor Design
I can live with having one of the screwdrivers being impossibly stiff to open; but since the bottle opener is fixed & won't fold into the handle this is not suitable for carrying in a pant's pocket. That sort of negates the whole purpose of owning such a tool. Disappointing.
