This thing is fantastic. It helps you achieve a really convincing amp tone by just running your pedalboard into it. We needed to cut down on stage volume, this replaced my amp and I'm very happy with the tone I get running direct now.Edit....crapped out after under 2 months. Avoid.

Great for direct recording
I thought the speaker simulator on my Digitech unit was good, but it sounds like weak fizz compared to the GCS-2.I also compared it to the Zoom G3's built in simulator, and it blew it away. The GCS-2 sounds very full-bodied, if you're looking for that 412 cabinet sound, this is it. Other units I've tried are the Behringer Ultra G, and the Marshall MG 15 direct, but none of them compare.Other than going with the Palmer rack mount units costing hundreds of dollars, I think this would be the best way to record a heavy guitar sound at home or even in the studio. I've tried micing my Marshall MG15 with both a studio condenser mic, and an SM57, and although it sounded good, the GCS-2 made it sound thin and watered-down in comparison.

Makes my POD xtLive sound better
This item takes the input of a guitar preamp signal and adjusts the sound to simulate playing through a guitar cabinet.you'd use it as direct injection into computer sound card, powered studio monitor, or front of house sound system w/ XRL. It is only mono output, so if you need stereo you'll need two of these for stereo XRL. This product sounds very good, but my one grip is that it is mono input and output. I actually would've paid 20 more dollars for stereo in/out and why this product get a 4 instead of 5.If your preamp already has cabinet simulation this will make it sound better. There are several adjustments that can be made to simulate different types of cabinets.

Broke after a couple months of use...
I bought this product back in October 2017, I use it for less than a year. In March 2018, it stopped working with no apparent reason. I used it in my pedalboard with a proper power supply and cables. Until this point, I have no idea what went wrong with it. I would not recommend this product due to is deficient reliability; you will be better of buying another product. Good luck to those who already bought it.

For my guitars I went back to my original SanSamp and one of the most versatile and best kept secrets in the business
This is voiced for guitar not bass, so be mindful of that. For my bass I use a SansAmp VT Bass DI. For my guitars I went back to my original SanSamp and one of the most versatile and best kept secrets in the business, the handmade OmiCabSim by DSM Noisemaker out of Chile. It's not that ADA isn't a good choice, it has been and will continue to be for some time to come. ADA is a solid company that's been around for awhile, makes quality gear, and will continue to do so for some time to come. I simply wanted something with a few more options.

The ADA GSC-2 is the best DI box / cab simulator I've ever owned
The ADA GSC-2 is the best DI box / cab simulator I've ever owned. Past boxes used were BBE DI-100x and Behringer Ultra-G. It is an incredible value for the money and sounds excellent. Lots of choices and in's & out's options. I mounted it right to my pedal board for going direct to the PA or to a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. Professional sounding unit!

Great DI box, poor cab sim.
I've owned this pedal for a few years now and as a DI box it's great if all you want is signal splitting, however it's cabinet simulation (it's main feature) is pretty poor. Just about any IR will sound more like a mic'd cab than this will. This seems to pretty much just be a treble reducer rather than a true cabinet simulator.I guess it's not too bad for a live situation, but for recording there are plenty of free IR files out there that are exponentially better. At this point it just lives on my pedal board as a standard DI box.
