awesome product. Make sure to tether it down
UPDATE: Two years later--sun damage, loose stitching, cracking/marbling throughout canvas top, water pools whenever it rainsWe purchased this as a shade for our backyard in the very temperate Pacific Northwest (Seattle area). After pricing out other similar products, we decided to go with this one based on price and reviews. Two years ago we spent $186 dollars on it (the price has come down since then). We also bought a set of weights to go over the "feet" so that it wouldn't fly into our neighbor's yard, should it be windy. With most days of the year here being between 40-60 degrees, 70 degrees feels hot to us. The first summer, in 2016, we used it for nearly two months. Last year it was outside for a month. We needed to take it to a family reunion first and then used it for the remainder of the summer. When I pulled it out of its carrying case this year, I remembered all of the cracking over the canvas of the product. There are small holes through the entirety of the canvas. While it's a small thing and still usable, it does have a two-year warranty on it and that had previously played into our decision to purchase it. (Please see pictures). The structure itself is very sturdy. It weighs 53 pounds so it's a two person job to put it up or take it down (or one person with a sore back, two days later). When I realized that the product was still under warranty and asked for a replacement canvas top, they pushed back with first, "Did I fill out the warranty registration card?" (Gulp. No.). Second, after submitting pictures and showing the wear and tear, they pushed back that this is meant to be taken down and not left up. Because it was left out when it rained, that rendered the warranty useless. I'm sorry, this weighs 53 pounds. This isn't the sort of structure that is taken down and put back up each day. There are more temporary, less expensive and lighter structures that one can buy for those purposes (garage sales, get-togethers, etc.).Would I buy this again, knowing what I know now? Definitely not. The metal structure is great but the product itself is only as good as the canvas on top of it. Customer service put everything back on me and looked for ways to nullify the warranty. I would go with a company like Costco who stands behind their products and only sells quality pieces in the first place.NOTE: The fabric used is the same stuff used for windshield sun protectors. For the price, I would hope for a heavier duty fabric with better sun protection. Also, the last pictures show the design flaw when it rains. The water pools on all four sides and we have to push it out to not tear the fragile fabric.

Just what I was looking for
I have been using this canopy for a couple of months now and I just love it! It is easy to assemble, though the first time takes a bit of strength to pop up the legs. It was more than a two-person job the first time we put it up, but after that, it only took a couple of people to do it. It is the perfect cover for our patio table and chairs on the back deck. Usually when it reaches the mid-80s, we don't sit outside much, but having this canopy blocks the sun and makes sitting outside pleasant. One thin we did to help with the sun's heat is that we took the panels of fabric that are made to cover the legs and we hooked them to the accordion metal bars that expand as you spread out the canopy and raise it to full height. We clip the panels together with metal clips and it provides plenty of shield from the late afternoon sun until it sinks behind the trees.WhenWhen it rains, a little bit of rain blows in through the spaces between the center top canopy piece and the top outer canopy. It is more like a mist coming in that rain, so our chair cushion got just a fine covering of water mist on it instead of becoming soaked through and through.I definitely recommend buying the canopy weights that velco around the legs of the canopy and that you fill with pebbles or sand. It kept our canopy completely stable during winds that blew another canopy over during an art show.I love that the canopy blocks 99% of UV rays because I am allergic to the sun and now I can sit outside for hours with friends and family. When it is time to buy another canopy, I plan to buy this one again if it is still on the market.I'm including a link to the canopy weights I purchased. I really don't think you can go wrong with these. (I hope the link works!) King Canopy INAWB400 17-Inch Weight Bags for Instant Legs, Black, 4-Pack

Add a room for $150.
Definitely harder to figure out set up then I thought. But, worth it once it's done. We did buy the weight bags mentioned in another review. We bought sand kitty litter (not clay) and poured into weight bags. Perfect. A 50 lb bag was $10.00 and that is all they will hold. This gazebo gives you a large shade area. We've been making it into our outdoor room, with decor, plants, furniture etc.Today we ordered a misting system to add to it. We're in so. California, and it gets Hot here. The manufacturer is Academy. They sell these at their website for $99.If it lasts and looks good for a few years, then I'm happy.

Revised Review. Would not buy again.
So, bought this for annual beach trip and at first loved it. The frame is way more durable than the 8x8 canopy I picked up at Academy that broke almost immediately. Positives: huge shade area, pretty durable frame, rollers on fairly sturdy storage bag, vented roof. Negatives: the fabric sleeves for the legs are useless-just added weight and threw them out almost immediately. Second setup caught a small tear in the canopy and repaired with duct tape. Would have been nice if the canopy was just a little thicker material. The telescopic legs get seized up with sand and can be a real bear to extend. The pull pins at the corners are a three-piece plastic assembly that are pure garbage. One of them came apart day one. Not sure how it handles rain. I bought some velcro sandbags for the legs for wind and those are highly recommended.Updated: I went to use this for the beach trip this year and it went straight to the trash. The legs were seized with sand and rust. NOT BEACH FRIENDLY.
