Rotastak Space Command Small Animal Housing

There are good things and bad things about Rotastak as a hamster home. This package is basically quite good, with the combination of a 'rainbow-runner' wheel, a living pod, a burrow/tank, a dining room and some tubing. But don't be under an illusion that its enough - you'll want to add more tubing, a carry case and ideally you'll want some more chambers and maybe a rotastak pod too. Hamsters aren't the sleepy little things you see in pet shops during waking hours, they're very active, very busy little creatures who really benefit from an enriched environment with lots to do.So as a starter set or an addition for those already bought in to Rotastak, this is brilliant, and at the time of buying excellently priced. But please, for the good of your pet, don't only use this. Get more.

Fantastic item. Lots of space for hamster or gerbil. Dwarf hamster might have problems climbing tubes unless at an angle. Comes with wheel and water bottle and has plenty of room in the sleeping quarters. Downside is there is only two clips for the cage bit and I think it would need more for safety reasons. They can be purchased seperately which isn't a problem really. Love the colour and being able to watch your hamster enjoy itself. Plus you can add more bits on to this unit. Highly recommended.

I bought this cage for my sons Syrian hamster, it took a bit of time to put together initially but looks awesome once assembled.Our hamster is a fatty so sometimes struggles through the tubes but she always manages to get to each section.Takes about 30 mins to clean the cage (including washing each compartment and re-assembly).Only downside, the wheel doesn’t fit in the best way do poo and food and bits come flying out whoever the hamster is using it (which is a lot).

Good design but the wheel started rattling loudly after only a couple of weeks but not the end of the world. The tunnels are fiddly to fit , not great quality and not really enough of them to actually make any other design other than the one stated on the box, a few more entrance/exit holes would be good so you can actually add more options tunnel wise. After only a couple of months the wheel is cracked so I have had to remove it and buy a stand alone wheel which is actually silent, the middle area is also cracked so quality wise I wouldn't recommend it. Despite the reputable name and interesting design I would not recommend buying this, if dwarf hamsters can damage it this quickly I can only imagine what a full sized hamster would do.

This arrived on time, well package with clear instructions. I had no problems getting it set up with the help of my 6 year old son, and can only assume the negative reviewers regarding this had a dud (unlikely) or struggle with simple home assembly tasks. Our hamster is certainly not small, but had no problems navigating the tubes, and is very active all over the cage, which is more than adequate for a good sized Syrian. My son loves the design and layout and it appears his hamster does too. I am glad I ignored the poor reviews which don't paint a true picture of this fantastic product.

The cage looks fantastic but unfortunately the tubes are flimsy every time you touch them they break they are not secure enough! I’ve had to tape them together due to the fact they could come undone.... I’ve had my hamster for a day now and she hasn’t even been able to go to the bed or the food and drink dome because of how little grip the pipes have and how steep they are! Took half an hour to put the tank and everything together but the pipes took the mick!!! It’s taken me all day to figure out how they go and when I finally managed to get it done they just come apart with little movement! I do not recommend this cage unless you have Patience...I’m not happy at all with the time taken to fix it together and the top keeps caving in whenever you twist it to move then pipes.... don’t want my hamster getting hurt 😡

A little tricky to put together, especially the tubing which is brittle and connectors not flexible at all. Broke open in the middle of night after a few days due to weight of hamster climbing the tubes. The cat then used cosmo the hamster as a toy and it died. We then taped up each connecting tube so not to happen again with our replacement. Not ideal and in general the cage fiddly to clean and a real pain. Decided to throw in the bin and give our new hamster an upgrade to a cage called hamster heaven. A much much better option we have found.

This cage is great for hamsters. And you can add other rooms to it.Much better than the wee metal prisons some hamsters get to live in

Bargain price compared to shops. Hamster seems to love it so far. Only criticism is that it’s a bit fiddly to clean properly every week.

This cage is a very good one. Takes quite a while too put together but once up is brilliant for your hamster. It is hard to get a hamster out of the cage as the tubing gets in the way. But this cage works well for my Sryian hamster and he enjoys all the space and room in this cage. Would recommend to others looking for a hamster cage!

Great cage, good ventilation. One happy Syrian ( ideally needs to be bigger for this breed, but mine is happy) wheel too small for her, though loves the large enough tunnels. Took a while to piece together but surprisingly easy to take apart and clean

This cage is perfect for a Syrian hamster. Easy to set up and has a dining room, wheel and tubing over three levels. Plenty of room for a small furry excercise.

A lot of the reviews on here state that the tubes were too fragile for them, and things didn’t fit together properly. However, this cage is perfect for a Syrian hamster, the tubes require some patience and delicate handling but none of them broke and they all looked perfect when together. All in all a very good cage.

My hampster cant climb up the tubes because it cant grip onto anything, so I had to completely REdesign it so I can't use half of what I've paid for. The bottle leaks so i have to re fill it and cleanout that area every day and the way it made you cant use any other bottles just there's.
