Size:14-Feet | Color:Black The Rosewill Cat 6 network cable offers a reliable Ethernet connection. It is designed to handle high bandwidth intensive application, and drastically reduces both impedance and structural return loss (SRL) as compared to standard 100 MHz wire to ensure error-free transmission. The durable black jacket easily color-codes your cable runs while providing rugged flexibility for network connection. To ensure long lasting performance, the cable features a strain relief to prevent the RJ45 connector from bending at sharp angle, and a snagless design to protect the RJ45 clip from snags during installation.

A quality cable from a reliable brand
While browsing through the other CAT 6 wires available on this site, I decided that I wanted to look at the companies that would be providing the cable to me. More often than not, they were some bizarre companies that had addresses that didn't exist. A real problem, especially since people have been complaining that their wires weren't really CAT 6 quality. So I thought of a solution, why not look up the wires from a real computer focused website instead of amazon? One of the first rememberable names i saw on Newegg was Roseville. They were based in LA, California. The wire itself is a true CAT 6 cable and has all of the certifications written on the wire. It works like a charm for my xbox that's located one the opposite side of the house from the router. I would highly recommend this wire if you were skeptical of the other ones like I was.

Cable maxes out at 250MBPS
I have a gigabit connection and this cable is trash! I bought three other cables another cat6 and a cat7 even the cat7 cable only gets 880MBPS. Sadly these cables are made to meet industry standards for like 150mbps which is regular cable internet. I have a gigabit connection so I am able to take these cables to their limits. Sadly this does not meet the gigabit standards they claim! And i used to like roswell cables. I used to recommend them!

Work well for patching between switch, wifi router, and cable modem
I got these to do some patching between my cable modem, firewall, and high speed switch. They work fine for that purpose, but I found the cover which protects the tab from getting snagged is a rather hard rubber, making it take a bit of muscle to disengage the clip. If you're not going to be disconnecting things every once in a while, that shouldn't be a problem at all. Though note, that the 1-foot is 1-foot tip to tip, and not the cable length, so essentially only good for connecting devices which are stacked on top of one another - even side to side may be a bit of a reach for these short cables. BUT, if you're only looking for a very short distance to connect, these should work fine!

No AWG specs
Since I needed a long cable for PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) I wanted to make sure the cable conductors are at least 24 AWG thick. Rosewill doesn't publish any specs on the wire gauge on their website, or in the product description, and there is no AWG printed on the cable either. Some other shopping websites assume this is 24 AWG in their description, but I doubt it - I looked at the end connector of this cable side-by-side next to my Monoprice CAT6 cable which is 24 AWG, and the copper looks thinner on this Rosewill cable. I didn't take the risk of using a thinner conductor, so I'm sticking with the Monoprice cables.

Good Build Quality
I ran this cable from the cable company modem (Cox Cable) to a bedroom with about four feet to spare. The download speed is 50Mb/s and I see no slow down due to the length of the run. I have recently read that 80% of cat 6 cables do not meet the cat 6 spec and some do not even meet cat 5e. I have not tried to push 1Gb through this cable and may never do so but it seems to be well built and I don't think it will have a problem pushing 100Mb/s when the internet connection is upgraded.

Not Cat 6
No way this is cat 6 cable - way too thin of wires inside. I cut to my needed length (about 65 ft) and was unable to put another end on the cable - the wire was too thin. I have done many other cat 6 and cat 5e connections - this wire is REALLY REALLY thin. I had to put it into a surface mount ethernet jack with the screws inside of it to make a connection point. My application does not need speed and I did get it to work for me, but if you are looking for true cat 6 this is not it.

It did look good and felt good
I bought this 100 ft cat 6 knowing it was too long for what I needed and would cut it to fit. To my surprise, what I found inside was 24 G (or > 25? 26?) Stranded copper wire. These were so difficult to work with and could only get them to successfully go in to RJ45's with wire guides for Cat 5 because the 8 inside wires were so flimsy. It did look good and felt good ... on the outside and might never would have known if I hadn't needed to cut it. Performance wise, I can't say how it would have worked.

looks good and works!
Looks and feels like a good network cable. I have no need to use it so, I can't tell if the tabs are realiable; the tabs are the one that break often if you unplug the cable often.I would recommend buying this cable.
