Three Years Strong!
I ordered this Japonesque Power Curl eyelash curler in January 2013. I have been using it for over three years now, and have been quite pleased with its performance. I have yet had to replace the pad. For a while, I used the curler on a daily basis, but I only use it occasionally now.In the past, I’ve experimented with many different drugstore brand eyelash curlers. They tended to only last a few months before disappointingly breaking. I decided it was not worth the headache to buy a cheap one, and purchased a MAC Full Lash curler. I was in love with it until the pad started to split in the middle. The pad would pluck out my eyelashes during use and every few days I had to clean the split region, where I would find a stash of my eyelashes. I have not had that problem with this eyelash curler. In fact, the pad seems to be one piece rather than two pieces (glued?) together.Pros:- Does not pinch eyelids- Creates deep curls- Curls last a long time, even without mascara- Free replacement pads! (...)Cons:- Slightly more expensive than drugstore brands- Has started to squeak a little during use, but bearableConclusion:The Japonesque Power Curl eyelash curler was worth the investment. It has performed well for me and I have no big complaints.

Great product, but replace in a few years.
This is my favorite eyelash curler. This lash curler has finger loops and the hinge mechanism faces away from your face . A lot of other brands have the mechanism on the inside, and it pokes your cheek, plus you can't get as close to the root. Finger loops are a must as well because there is less chance of it slipping out of your grip. I've had a different eyelash curler with loosened glued on finger pads that shot into my eye socket and rip out half my upper lashes out. You can also get replacement pads from the japonesque website for free. However, if you use this frequently, you should replace it in a few years. The upper metal part gets sharper over time and might cut the lashes. I had mine for 7 years and it did cut my lashes. I like the results it gave me. I was happy to repurchase it

Good, not amazing
Definitely like this eyelash curler, since it's cool that you can walk into any store that carries Japonesque products and get the plastic/silicon refill thing. I compared the size with my long time eyelash curler, the l'oreal one, and it looks... almost exactly the same. The Japonesque eyelash curler feels a bit more sturdy and firm. On my lashes, the two feel the same, except that the Japonesque is a bit more "bouncy", but that might be because it's new. I use the two interchangeably, though the l'oreal one was half the price. I was only buying it since I didn't want to bother finding my silicone thing replacement. I was hoping to find a holy grail to transform my very straight and very boring lashes, but alas they remain stubborn. Rated four stars because I like it and for the lifetime refill hehe. Also it feels delicate on my lashes yet firm. But not firm enough to feel like the metal part will chop of my lashes.

Going strong for 8 years and counting!
This is a great, sturdy, well-designed eyelash curler. I've been using it for 8 years and it's still going strong. Along the way, I replaced the pads with some replacement ones from another brand, and it doesn't work quite as well as other pads are not quite the right shape (not long enough or slightly too thin/thick to fit in the groove exactly. Also other brand's replacement pads split with a groove down the middle much more quickly). Even so the curler still works really well.Just filled out the form on the Japonesque website for free refill pad and hopeful the Japonesque pads will fit better, and I'll be using this curler for many more years!

Better than Shu Umera
I actually prefer the Japonesque lash curler to my Shu Umera one, which is the brand all the beauty magazines recommend. But for my almond eye shape, this allows me to comfortably curl all my lashes without crimping them in a weird way, which can happen easily with the Shu Umera. I also find the Shu Umera isn't quite long enough for my eyes, and it can leave some of the outer lashes out (also not cute). Also love that Japonesque offers free lifetime refills of pads for their line of curlers. Check out their company website if you purchase & need to replace your pads.

UPDATED Review - Buyer Beware!!!
UPDATE - the first Japonesque eyelash curler I purchased from Amazon worked perfectly right out of the box and last for over 2 years. When it broke I purchased another one in February 2014. It is May 5, 2014 and it is already broken. Also it never worked as well as the first one and resulted in pulling out some of my lashes and hurting my eyelid. Either Japonesque's quality is in the toilet or Amazon is selling counterfeit product. Either way my suggfestion is to avoid purchasing this item on Amazon until they can verify it is not counterfeit. I will buy one direct from Japonesque if I can and see how that goes.I bought this based on other reviewers reviews and have to agree - this is the single BEST eyelash curler you will ever buy. I have had mine for two years and use it daily. whenever the rubber insertswear I order new ones from the Japonesque website for free and they arrive a few days later. Would definitely buy again.

A lash curler that actually curls!
I’ve been having a hard time finding a lash curler that will actually curl my lashes and keep them curled longer than 30 min! All the drug store ones have these hard silicone pads that won’t do a thing for me. Did some research and found this one and it definitely did not disappoint! No pinching my kids and it curls my lashes nicely. Keeps them curled about 1/2 the day which is a lot for my stubborn lashes. Definitely worth the $21 price tag.

Over I'm happy with them
I normally just buy a cheap pair (£~3) however they never last and I'm constantly replacing them. So I thought I would invest in a decent pair. Over I'm happy with them, they provide a really good curl which lasts the whole day even without mascara. The only reason I didn't give then five starts is that I find them slightly uncomfortable.

Best eyelashes I've bought.
I have very straight eyelashes and this is the first curled that has worked for me. A wee bit more expensive that I normally pay but we'll worth the money. Would definitely recommend.

Recomended
I bought these for my sister for her birthday after seeing them on Vivianna Does Make-up instead of Shu Uemera like mine. They are absolutely fantastic, beautiful curl every time which holds all day even without mascara. Needless to day, I'm ordering a pair for myself!

Too be honest I cannot understand how these are £20 - they are OK but no way worth that money I'm afraid
