My cat is evil. He hates being brushed, or handled, or even being looked at. I used to end up with lacerations all over my hands when I tried to brush him due to his super evilness and massive claws. These are brilliant, thick but also comfy and do not restrict hand movement. I am please to report that when I used these the evil one tried to bite my hands and tried to scratch my arms, and he didn’t succeed with either! My face however has been massacred and I nearly lost an eye, so maybe if you could make a face mask version that would be good too.

Really wish I'd thought of finding some gloves before! Our 4-year old cat is loving/needy and likes attention. BUT he is jumpy and can't help scratching. We've all been too scared to do more than a quick head stroke, as we often get swiped and left with a bleeding hand. These arrived today and our cat wasn't bothered by them. In fact, he seems to like the grippy/firm stroke. We can interact and play with him without any fear. It's like having a superpower! Delighted - and his scratches and playful bites haven't gone through at all. Plus: extra bonus that it catches a lot of his hair, so that means less fluff to clean up.

I bought these to protect me while bonding my rabbits. They come a fair way up the arm, which gives protection for both hands and forearms, are thin enough to allow movement but strong enough to provide adequate protection. Having broken up a couple of scuffles where my fingers ended up in the way of sharp bunny teeth, I was pleased to find that the gloves weren't pierced and my fingers remained intact! Well worth the money, I am now much more confident in situations where scratches and bites are a possibility.

It appears to be a high quality item. It doesn’t give off any kind of unpleasant smell and is soft and flexible. After the initial shock my cat actually seems to like being stroked with the gloves. But: He still absolutely hates being brushed or combed and puts up a real fight. And that is where the gloves could do with some improvement. The black bits are quite thin and my feisty little feline managed to puncture my skin. Not nearly as bad as usual, but he drew blood. Another good point of these gloves is their size, though. They cover my arms up to the elbows and are wide enough for me to wear a pair of lined leather gloves underneath. I won the fight, we got a lot of matted hair out. Hopefully he will soon learn that there is no point in fighting anymore.

So, I have two English short hair cats, brothers, just over a year old and they are a menace. Playing with them often results in long scratches, and sometimes bloody gashes on my hands/arms. Since I bought these gloves, hot damn, not only my hands/arms are scratch/mark free, the cats love it because they go ALL OUT. Without the gloves, once they bite/scratch and I go "ouch ouch ouch" they stop. Suddenly with this they can go mad. And they love it. So do I....

First off i have a snake, hes a 6 ft boa constrictor and hes quite defensive and has bitten me a number of times as he is a rescue. He has quite the painful bite as not only does he have many, many needle sharp teeth but he has jaw power. Now while these gloves are quite big for my little hands(medium not in stock at time), not even his needle like teeth could pierce the glove on the hand(between where the fingers are on the black fabric!!) Where it looks like itd be the weakest!!. I am very impressed with these as i felt the pressure a bit i did not feel any teeth getting through the inside of the glove and i was left unharmed. I dont know how well itd work for a dog but i imagine a cats claws or teeth wouldnt be able to put a dent in this thing, maybe even some monitor lizards or just herp keepers that are a bit nervous at times(like me)!! The only thing i noticed was the fabric did seem to get pulled out a little with the bite, but again it didnt go through to my hand. Good gloves.

Bought these to protect my hands and arms from my cat's very sharp claws. She hates being groomed but with her having long fur - brushing is a must. My hands and forearms used to get shredded. Not any more. it took me a little while to get used to moving my hands when wearing them as they are very thick and robust but now I can use scissors, combs and brushes. Still struggle to use nail clippers though so will practice some more with them. When immersed in water the gloves are not entirely water-proof - my fingers felt damp inside but they dried out overnight and were as good as new thereafter. They have been a godsend to me - definitely would recommend to cat owners who fear grooming their cat more than root canal treatment :)

Not much good against dog bites. The pinching bites that nip the skin, get through easily leaving bruises and these gloves aren't tough enough for even the lightest full mouth bites of a labrador. Compared to the fire gloves I had before, these just aren't up to the job. Reading the positive reviews, I gather that for cats and other small animals, these protect against sharp claws with low levels of force.

Wij gebruiken deze om(wilde) katten te pakken. Deze handschoenen zijn niet zo stug en daardoor veel handzamer en beweeglijker om een dier vast te pakken. Als een wilde kat echt doorbijt voel je het wel en krijg je een knijpblaar, maar de tandjes gaan er (tot nog toe) niet doorheen. Aanrader.
