I can't speak to the longevity of the filter as this bottle is new. I read the other reviews before buying and decided on this because for straw filters it seemed to have the most stages. I have tried the brita straw filter before and it just didn't get my water tasting as good as I'd like. This bottle however makes the water taste better than the higher end bottles of water. I use this on tap water only. I am super picky about the taste of water and will allow myself to become severely dehydrated before drinking something I don't like. I really hated being part of the problem by buying single use plastics all the time so I tried this and I like it.Also, when I filled this bottle for the first time based on the other reviews, I sucked on the straw pretty hard. I got water immediately and it really only requires a little more power than a normal water bottle. It is not hard to use.

After seeing all the news about people got sick from drinking water in Viet Nam, I realize how important a clean and safety water source is. I searched in the Amazon to find whether there is a convenient way can drink safety water. Finally, I chosse the SurviMate water filter bottle.The water filter straw has 2-stage filter system which can easily filter waterborne bacteria. The truth is the water filter bottle really works, no stomach ache or diarrhea during this trip! Definitely worth the price. Highly recommended!!"

Awesome product. Used this on many camping and hunting trips. Freaked my buddies out by just scooping up water from the muddy water we were wading in to get to duck blind. Filter really does the job. It does take a bit of sipping to get the flow right at first, but once it flows it’s no problem. Great product.

These water bottles are fantastic!Took them on our resent vacation to save money on purchasing water bottles and also to not have to worry about our water source. After the initial couple of drags on the straw drinking was easy. We did not filter water from puddles or streams, however, but the filters made our tap water taste great.Additionally, I was missing the super small gasket that sealed the spout on the lid. I contacted customer service and they quickly sent out a replacement bottle. No hassle, just fantastic customer service! They respond quickly to answer questions and resolve issues.Highly recommend this product :)

The filter gave the water such a horrid taste that it gave me a strong headache. Could not stand the taste and there was no way to run water through it to get rid of the taste. We've had other filtered water bottles that you could run water through to 'water down' the filter taste. This does not do that. We removed the filter and use without and it's a great bottle now.

I forgot I even bought this. In my bugout, hope like hell it works when the time comes. If that time comes Amazon will likely cease to exist qnd my review will render itself useless.

I bought this bottle to filter my tap water instead of an attachment filter because my sink is too small. The first time I used it i pulled a few sucks of water up and spit them out and they were blackish. And then clear after that. So I do think it works but it did not at all improve the taste of the water. I'm wondering what would be in my tap water that this filter doesnt eliminate? For now I'm just settling because I'm too lazy to search for something else

Worked great for the first time, went to blow air out of the filter for the first cleaning after the initial use and and the filter came right apart and charcoal went everywhere. Not worth the money.
