🎶 Strum Your Way to Greatness!
The world's most popular guitar shape gives this Blueridge a smooth tone with great power and projection. The Sitka spruce top is braced with the traditional forward-x pattern and the back, sides and peghead overlay are figured Santos rosewood. The slim mahogany neck has an adjustable truss rod and the entire guitar is finished in a lovely high-gloss natural finish. Vintage style 14: 1 ratio openback tuning machines with butterbean buttons complete the prewar vintage vibe of this great sounding Blueridge guitar!

I've never purchased a guitar on-line before
Frankly, I wasn't at all certain about purchasing a guitar on-line, but after a lot of research I decided that the BR-60 was the right tool for me, and I placed the order. As has been the norm for me, the guitar (and the case that I ordered at the same time) arrive in a couple of days, and everything was in great condition. I fully expected that I would have to take the guitar to my local tech for a setup and was amazed when I brought it up to tune how well it was out of the box. The tech that looked at it was likewise amazed and didn't have to make any adjustments from the factory settings. It speaks highly of the folks at Blueridge that it can be so stable after shipping across the country. As for the guitar, it's everything that I was looking for. I was looking for a box with a boomier low end for the rhythm bluegrass stuff that I generally play and this is much more like a Martin than the low end Taylor that I've been playing. The action was good, and the intonation true. I fretted over whether to go with the BR-160 with the solid sides and back and finally decided that price was a factor, and that my experience with plywood backs and sides on other guitars made it worth the risk (and I don't think anyone will likely be about to tell the difference at first blush). Yes, it's not a Martin and it's made in China, but I was looking for a tool, not a collectible and this meets my needs well, at a price that doesn't leave me in a panic when I make a wrong turn and bump into someone else. All in all this purchase has been a great experience and I would not hesitate in buying on-line provided I spent a bunch of time doing on-line research prior to the purchase.

Buzz, buzz, buzz
I suspect Blueridge guitars are very nice for the investment. However, if Amazon can't send one with at least a decent set-up, there's no way to tell for sure. The one they sent was rife with string buzz up and down the neck. To evaluate the guitar fairly would have required a luthier-grade setup. That would have cost $45-$150 depending on whether or not it needed fret-leveling to solve the issue. I had no option but to return the guitar. I was disappointed.

Great sound and quality!
Love it! Sounds like a guitar 3x its price. High quality build and materials throughout. Bravo!

Blueridge BR-60 -- a lot of guitar for the money
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. I have a vintage Gibson, and a newer Gibson Hummingbird Pro, among other guitars. I played a couple of used Blueridge guitars in guitar shops here and in London. I was very impressed in both cases (in fact, in London the guitar was tagged "not for sale" in a shop full of expensive vintage instruments...the store owner said he was keeping it for himself because he really liked the way it sounded/played...which I thought was pretty amusing given its China origins and low cost.) I had no idea where Blueridge guitars were sold since I'd only seen the used instruments in shops, and happened across the brand on Amazon. I've never bought an instrument without playing it first, so I held off quite a while before buying this one. I wanted a guitar I could travel with that I wouldn't worry about being stolen from a hotel room, or dinged up. The other inexpensive guitars I've bought for this purpose always let me down, so I tended to leave them home. Finally, I decided to take the chance and ordered this guitar. I have to say, I'm very happy I did so. While it's not the equal of my far more expensive Gibsons, it is very well made, looks good, sounds and plays terrific for the price right out of the box...and even independent of the price. Just a nice instrument. The only negative was the poor quality of the shipping carton. My guitar suffered a slight dent on the back...not so bad I am bothered, but I was surprised by how lightly it was packed.Otherwise, a very good choice for a nice, inexpensive guitar that looks and sounds like a more expensive one. Highly recommended. Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Dreadnaught Guitar with Santos Rosewood Back and Sides

great sounding guitar, poor QC
The guitar was set up nicely and sounded good, however the finished was damaged with no visual package damage, it looks like it was damaged at the factory. i would have opted for a replacement but didn't want to take a chance with quality control that is that poor.Update, I wrote to the factory and sent them a picture of the guitar, they claim the guitar was dropped and most likely shipping damage even though the box was in great condition, so i guess they need to change their shipping packages.

Great guitar
Great guitar with excellent quality and sound. One of the tuning pegs is not as functional as the others but I'm hoping that the company will rectify that

Best Bang for the Buck!
This is without a doubt one of the best values available. Plays and sounds every bit as good as a guitar costing 3X as much. I couldn't be happier!

Guitar arrived top cracked; & appearance & workmanship not up to normal Blueridge standards
Top is cracked- in shipping? Wonder what my cost will be for repair? (Guitar ships in a very good thick but 'soft' case in a cardboard box for extra protection.) The Santos wood sides & back should look better- maybe Blueridge should generally use East Indian Rosewood, etc. in place of Santos wood. Normally I like Blueridge guitars better- but I'll try to also 'learn to like this one!' HA! HA! UPDATE on performance: Dreadnought light weight body style- solid top but thinner ply sides & lesser width; neck is also thin for easy playing- helpful for a smaller person & smaller hands seeking a lightweight guitar! Sound is clear & loud but lacking compared to an all solid wood guitar.
