Feta is a fresh cheese whose curd is preserved in a salt brine, which gives it a characteristic flavor and a specific texture. Originally created in Romania, Feta is now best known as a Greek cheese. However, this staple is made all around the circumference of the Mediterranean, including in southern France. Valbreso Feta is made from sheep's milk that is left over from the production of Roquefort, the famous French blue cheese. While typically eaten as a table cheese around the Mediterranean, in the USA it is most often added to mixed salads, and best appreciated in the summer. Shipping was great, the tin arrived cool with the cold pack still partially frozen, and the Best Buy date was July 2023. I placed the not opened tin on the refrigerator back shelf and proceeded to ignore it. Finally with trepidation I opened the tin in August 2024 -- the cheese was perfect, firm and fresh tasting. I crumble the feta for salad topping use, but it's sufficiently firm to be sliced for other recipes. I'll order this again after the summer heat has passed.

So I received this cheese AGAIN. I do not understand why it was left at the front door HOT, the ice bags were melted and HOT. This is cheese and was marked Perisable. What the heck is going on. I am about to throw it out as I am afraid to eat it now. What a shame. I love this cheese and order it often. What is going on with the drivers? This was my second bad delivery. Feta vs feta
I buy feta cheese imported from many countries including my own from small local ethnic shops. This is a bit on the pricey side, but i have to say the quality of it is worth it. You can look for a creammy or drier feta. For a creamy kind this is very tasty. I think it is a good buy for those taste buds that enjoy the variety in the sheep feta cheese.

GETS FUNKY TASTE
This Feta taste great when fresh. The can it comes in is hard to open all the way so I had to put it in another container with all the liquid. After three weeks or more the cheese starts to taste funky. There is a lot of cheese in the container for one person to consume in a few weeks. It seems to me the cheese should have a longer period than it does or like some of the other brands have bought in the past in large containers. cheese should be keep refrigerated at all time.
