BASF Drive XLR8 Crabgrass Killer for Lawn & Turf, Post Emergent Grassy & Broadleaf Weed Control, Active Ingredient Quinclorac, 30 Day Residual, Herbicide, Concentrate 64 Ounce

This is the best product I have found to kill crabgrass. It really works and you can see the effects in 2-3 days. It also kills many broad leaf weeds if you are so inclined. I would recommend to use a surfactant. Also I would use a dye if you are going to spray with a hand held tank sprayer.

Drive XLR8 kills crabgrass - amazingly well. I applied it per the instructions, with Methylated Seed Oil, and it killed the crabgrass dead - not just a little dead, but brown, curled-up, dried-up desicated corpse dead - in two or three days. It did not hurt desirable grass at all (tall fescue in my case). It is pretty selective - it kills crabgrass, but not much else.If it did NOT work for you, there are two possibilities (a) you've got an undesirable grass-like weed that is NOT crabgrass; or (b) you have real crabgrass, but did not read the label directions, which say that it will control crabgrass at the 1-tiller stage (early spring), or the 5+-tiller stage (fully grown, late summer) - but intermediate stages "may require multiple applications". Do your homework -> Google "crabgrass tiller stages" to see what those stages are. If you missed early spring, wait until August when the crabgrass is fully grown and is in the 5+tiller stage. Drive XLR8 will kill it dead-dead then.There are a lot of undesirable grass-like weeds that look like crabgrass. I've got 'em all - and Drive XLR8 does NOT kill them - it only kills crabgrass, and it does that very well. Straight 2,4-D, or Weed-B-Gone/Weed Clear or Trimec are the first choices for those other weeds. You can even mix them in the tank with Drive XLR8 - read the label!If it killed your whole lawn - Your whole lawn had probably been taken over by crabgrass. Crabgrass is nasty, invasive stuff, and Drive XLR8 did what it was supposed to do - it killed the crabgrass.For me - Drive XLR8 works exactly as advertised. I can't recommend it highly enough.

My neighbors don’t do anything to prevent crabgrass in their yard so I’m always fighting to control it in my yard. The overspray helped kill the crabgrass on the edge of their yard and therefore controlled it from coming into my yard. Yay! It’s such an invasive weed.

I’m normally not the type to write reviews, but I had to share my experience with this product. I recently spent a ton of money putting sod in my new Florida home, mainly for my dog to enjoy. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that west coast Florida soil is super sandy and doesn’t hold nutrients well—meaning it needs constant fertilizing.Fast forward less than a year and my brand-new lawn was practically dead, completely overtaken by crabgrass. I tried everything—reseeding, watering, treatments—but nothing worked. It was heartbreaking watching it all go to waste.Then, almost by accident, I stumbled across this product on Amazon. The listing seemed professional, so I figured: why not? I mixed it with water and sprayed it as instructed.No exaggeration—within 48 hours I saw crabgrass starting to whiten. I was stunned. I grabbed a rake (which I’ve done many times before with no effect), and this time, the crabgrass just pulled right up. I mean effortlessly came clean—like butter. My entire walkway, which was covered in crabgrass, I frankly didn't know how bad it was/ how much we had.This junk was suffocating my lawn, and now it’s finally out of the way. I don’t know yet how this will affect new seed or freshly planted sod, but I’ll definitely update my review after a few weeks.So far, highly recommended. If you’re fighting a losing battle with Florida soil and crabgrass like I was—give this a try. Total game changer.

Within 24 to 48hrs it began to yellow my crab grass invasion. ITS THE ONLY PRD I EVER BOUGHT THAT WORKED ON CRAB GRASS and did so with killing my Bermuda grass. It also is working on Duckgrass which nothing kills except weed killer so what a bonus. The instructions are horrible however. I used 1 fl oz per gallon.

DID NOT WORK! After reading all of the positive reviews on this product I was sold on itt thanking it would pay for itself in the long run instead of buying the other products at the local Farm store. I measured the square footage of my yard exactly and mixed the product as instructed according to the square footage I was spraying. There was no noticable change in the crabgrass in the first 3 days. I searched online and read where it could take up to 3 weeks to show results. Well it's been 6 weeks and there is absolutely no evidence that Drive XLR8 worked at all.I've owned a landscape business in the past and I have used products that actually worked that I had bought from Rural King at a fraction of the cost. I am not an ignorant home owner that has never used chemicals before. I've worked in 2 different chemical manufacturing plants and own 20 acres that I apply gallons of weed killer to every year so I know a great deal about lawn care. I know for a fact that I applied this product exactly as the directions instructed using bean oil as a surfactant and measured the yard accurately. I also sprayed in ideal weather conditions as it was not too dry or too wet. I've found in a lot of other products that they weren't effective if it was too dry out as the target weeds are sort of dormant when it's dry out.This was a very expensive product that simply did not work at all for me. I read all of the reviews and felt very confident that this product would work good and would be worth the high price that it cost. I will never make that mistake again this product is way overpriced for not showing any results at all. Maybe I simply got a bad or old batch but be very cautious of paying a lot of money for something that will not work.

This is the most effective product to eliminate Crabgrass. I have used it for years. Simply follow the proportions on the label.
