Barclay4157-30-CP Neo Angle Shower Rod, 30-Inch

Fabulous! This is a symmetrical shower rod designed to accommodate a four foot by four foot shower corner. It measures 30 inches at one end, goes 24 inches after almost a 45 degree angle bend, and finishes with 30 inches after the 2nd bend. The rod is composed of 2 identical pieces that is joined together with a six inch plastic insert (about three inches inserted into each side). There is no ring hanging from the ceiling to support the rod, yet there is no noticeable sag with a 78" shower curtain hanging from it. The ends of the rod has support brackets that slide freely off and on (yet it has tightening screws to make it "solid" when needed), so you can easily trim the edges of the rod to fit your shower. Additionally, you can trim the inside edges that join together at the center (if a 24 inch center bend is too long for you). Finally, the $73 dollar price is an excellent buy, compared to similar corner rods selling at almost $200...and yes, if you must mount on drywall (not recommended), you need to supply your own anchors.

It serves it's purpose. It looks nice, but the reason I am giving it 3 stars is because it isn't particularly sturdy. The brass tube it is made of is extremely thin. For the price I was expecting something a little more substantial. To sturdy mine up, I cut some 7/8" dowel rod and placed it inside the first foot of each end, then I ran a self drilling screw through the mounting bracket and into the rod with the dowel inside. This seemed to allow it to bear a little more weight. The rod's construction is so thin that the set screw included in the bracket simply dented the rod when tightened. All in all, your choices are pretty limited when it comes to rods for Neo Showers, so I guess this will have to do.

This is exactly what we needed. We had to cut one side down to fit our shower size and that was tricky but by cutting a little off at a time we got it right.

We used this shower rod for our galvanized shower and the chrome was a perfect match for the chrome shower curtain hooks. Looks great!

Would have liked it to be a bit more sturdy for the money! Was able to trim ends and center to make it fit in an odd shaped corner shower stall.What I did do to make it much sturdier was to fabricate "slugs" for the ends that mount on the wall out of aluminum pipe turned down on my lathe. We see how long that lasts.

Worked as described and seems pretty sturdy. However, it didn't come with instructions for measuring where/how to cut the rod. I made a cardboard templet and it worked fine.
