Power Supply Upgrade for COMPAQ PRESARIO SR1300 Series Desktop Computer - Fits The Following Models: SR1300NX, SR130

This unit provides plenty of power for my older retro gaming system, a system running an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton core, which uses a lot of 5V power, unlike the power supplies of today's systems. It's rated for a COMPAQ PRESARIO, but it's got standard plugs, and it will work in other systems, including white-box.

the supply was full functional however as during the years of having my pc I added another dvd drive. Not knowing how many ports on the power supply ahead of time would have been helpful as now I have a power supply I cant use

I would write a full review as to how this thing performs, but to those who read these comments, heed my warning. This is classic false advertisement. I bought this to replace a dead power supply of mine on an old SR1330NX. The cable going to the motherboard requires 10 pins. This one has 12, thus it is entirely incompatible.

1. it's loud. i can hear the fan running, from the next room.2. it's not a direct swap into the compaq sr1303wm (my computer). a small area on the tower had to be trimmed away to clear the power receptacle on the power supply. i have a Dremel tool & cut-off wheel, so it wasn't a big deal for me. but for someone without metal working tools or skills, it would be a big deal.3. it's working great... ;-)

I ordered a new power supply because the fan was starting to fail in the old supply. I installed this new one mid September, and the fan in this new one is starting to fail at 2 months. It makes a squealing noise at start up and I verified that it was this new supply. These fans should run for years, not months before failing. Not happy with this product.

Awewsome product! Install exactly from the wires of the old one and it ran as smooth as silk. Can barely hardly hear it running. I installed in on a Compaq/Presario sr1303. And it fit perfectly! Means I can run my Windows XP a little while longer!

After receiving this item, my power bills, sewer bills, and even my water bills have all been reduced to basically nothing! No one should go through life with the false impression that they do not need one of these. May God be with you all!

good enough. if you use your brain you can figure out exactly how to install it. the original on mine had a slightly different wiring scheme, but I worked it out, and i'm no genius. works fine, but i'm still on xp so it's a bit harder to evaluate for that reason. but it's all that's advertised.
