It was a perfect fit. I had no problems charging my old Garmin GPS.

I was concerned about getting an "Invalid battery" error, as reported by a few purchasers, but decided to buy the battery anyway based on the number of positive reviews. It just came, I put it in my GPS and did not get any error messages. I'll revisit this review if I have any issues but so far the battery is perfect.

I first wrote " Held a charge, briefly, then went to sleep forever. No amount of recharging has brought it back to life. Sorry for creating the toxic waste in the local land fill. What a waste." What i didn't know was that my Garmin charger wasn't working and wasn't a Garmin charger. Once I replaced the bad charger with the real deal, the battery took a charge. I have been using it for many months now and regret my unfortunate and erroneous experience. (I'll never get to heaven at this rate).

Purchased 2 of these batteries for NUMI 500, 02/2021 and 08/2023 Both worked OK. Not as long life as Garmin battery. Use for bicycle. Both gave me "invalid battery detected" errors and would not charge this spring 2024.

Save yourself some time and frustration and just order a new battery every season.

I was concerned that the Garmin may not properly recognize/engage this battery. At first the unit did not remember the correct time/date. But I allowed a complete capture of the consetellation and it updated perfectly! I use my Aera 510 as primary navigation and flight planning in my classic 1950’s airplane and I could not risk the loss in-flight. When the original battery prevented boot-up on a recent flight until it re-charged for 20 minutes, I realized it needed replacement. This is a good affordble and easy acquisition and installation.

Replacement for my garmin gps. At one month it won’t hold a charge.Edit: Called Customer service. They are sending out a replacement. Will see how this one works, but customer service was excellent.

Yeah everyone has Google or some other navigation app on their phone but what about when your out on a weekend adventure and there are No Cell Towers... where is Google? Your phone don't get Satellite! Enter my Safelight based GPS! Never got lost until the dam battery died and could hold a charge. At least I can still replace my battery, unlike my new phone... ugh!
