Bose (40390) SL2 wireless surround link

I had just recently sold my custom built home as to where all my speaker cables was ran inside my walls upon building my house. Our new home we did not build so there was no wires in place to hook up our rear speakers to our Bose Lifestyle 35 System and in order to get the rear speakers hooked up it was going to require going over 3 doors and a fireplace with speaker wire. Now it could have been done but I am someone who just doesn't like to see wires where there shouldn't be wires. As I was considering going under the house to fish wires into the walls I remembered a email I received a couple of years ago from Bose talking about this new way to hook up your rear surround speakers with out having to run wires from the front of the room to the back. So I went to there website and saw the SL2 wireless surround link.This thing works great and is SO EASY to install. The transmitter and its receiver are 16' apart and there is no problem at all with them communicating with each other. I can't even tell that it's not hard wired because the sound quality is the same as in my previous house.I can't express enough how thankful I am that I remembered that Bose made this product. It truly saved me a lot of work.

The BOSE SL2 maintains the quality that you expect from your BOSE system when it's a wired connection. It hides easily behind my couch and I've had no problems. The reason for the 3 stars is the price. There is no way this product should cost over 200 dollars. The technology involved just doesn't cost that much, and if it does BOSE has some serious supply chain issues they need to workout. They amount of tech you can get for 200 bucks nowadays is breathtaking and a wireless audio transmitter and receiver no matter how good does not cost 200 bucks. Shame on you BOSE.

I have been searching for an SL2 for a couple of years for my Bose Lifestyle system since our old one stopped working eliminating sound from the rear speakers. Found a used one on Amazon from Broomstick6. Received it on time as promised and did the installation. It worked for about 30 minutes, then heard a snap and the rear speakers stopped working. Called and spoke to Brian the next day asking what might be wrong. He speculated either the receiving unit or power but most likely power. Offered to send another SL2 out. I told him I would try my old power pack first to see if it was power. Sure enough, my old power source worked. Called Brian back to explain. He offered to replace the power cord and I asked if he had spares to send. He said he would have to pull from another system. I told him not to worry about it, we'll see how my old one worked out long term. He then offered to compensate me for the issue. I told him don't worry about it and thanked him for his care and attention. Great job Brian! In a world of declining customer service, you are a hero!!

If you don't have a BOSE system then forget this product. It won't work! I didn't understand this when I order it and I am very disappointed since I was looking forward to have rear speakers. I will returning this system. Why can't they work with other systems? Why do they create this product and don't say if you don't have a BOSE system then look elswhere. BEWARE!!!

This should be used for Bose products only. This is a must if you do not want to run wires across the floor and do not want to do a rennovation to hide the wires. Compared with the wired sounds, the wireless is not as sharp, to be expected. However, the sound is still greeeeat! Very easy to set up and our recommendation is to make sure both units face each other at the same level. We bought ours from one call and throughout the service was excellent. We dropped it by one star just because the sound was slightly tad less sharp than the wired version.

After a recent house move I was forced to try and "hide" the surround sound wires for my LifeStyle 35 system rear speakers between the baseboards and carpet. This worked well until my youngest son started crawling and pulled the wires up.After much searching around I decided that this system would be best and I am not disappointed. For owners of a Bose system, this is a snap to install. It comes complete with connections to your Acoustimass module, and new wires to connect from the remote unit to your speakers. No need to cut or strip wires and even has the right connections for Lifestyle "cube" speakers.Without doubt, this is a perfect system when used as designed, within a decent-sized room for a home theatre system. My receiving unit is approximately 15 feet from the broadcast unit.

Although the delivery and packaging were fine. I knew that purchasing electronic devices would ultimately be risky. I continue to try and get the transmitter and receiver to connect, but to date have not had success. From my past reviews, you can see that I rarely rate anything below 3 - so this is a disappointment.

I was afraid and took a chance of buying a product advertised as “used” but my experience was well worth the purchase. The unit performed quietly and flawlessly and the seller’s communication was great prior to purchase. This item replaced my current SL2 which started displaying an audible hum in the rear speakers which seems to be coming from the SL2 receiver as the front speakers connected to the transmitter was silent and exhibited no audible hum. Problem solved for me by purchasing this.
