Ovation Celebrity Deluxe CC44 Acoustic-electric Guitar, Spalted Maple

I love the sound of the Acoustic/Electric Ovations. Last year I purchased via Amazon the iDea Celebrity Applause (Super Shallow) and loved it. My friends also loved the acoustic sound of the guitar. This is the reason that I decided to purchase the CC44 Spalted Maple via Amazon. What beautiful and pleasant sounding guitar!. It is a mid-depth therefor gives me a different sound than the super shallow.I was alone at home when it was delivered to me and when I unpacked it I could not stop saying out loud.....WOW! What a beautiful instrument....what a beautiful guitar.....It took me a couple of second to tune it to a standard tuning with it's own tuner and since the delivery 4 weeks ago I have a difficult time to put it down.Like every ovation I've tried at musical stores it is easy to play. I have six guitars total of which two are Ovations. I still have my first Fender acoustic of 30 years ago, a Takamine acoustic/electric now 20 years old and a couple of other makes. However, I find the Ovation sound much brighter than the other guitars.The odd time a friend will pick up one of my ovation and when I hear the sound from a distance I know that my choice was correct.

Outstanding guitar. Very easy to play and sounds good unplugged. It is outstanding and show worthy plugged in. It is not a Gibson, Martin, or Taylor, but plays and sounds better than the other guitars in its price range. It is perfect for gigs that I do not feel safe taking my Gibson j35 to. (outdoor in heat, rowdier bars with no stage....). Would buy it again in a heart beat.

First, let me say this about the Ovation CC44 Spalted Maple Acoustic Electric Guitar: It is gorgeous. It plays like a dream and I completely love my new guitar...even though it came with 3 chips out of the headstock...which my wife and I have decided to repair ourselves given the displayed manner of the transactions. The 5 stars are for the product...even damaged it is a wonderful guitar.
