I got this for an older phone because it still uses Ni-Cd batteries, and I didn't want to risk damaging the phone by using Ni-MH batteries... the charging circuit might be able to handle the new kind, but better to be safe than sorry.The phone keeps a charge for about a week being left off the charger until it needs to be recharged. More or less depending on how much it gets used.Edit: It's been almost 8 months now, and a couple of months ago the battery life started to worsen. The battery will last for up to one full day, and sometimes only part of the day (depending on how much it's used).The person I got it for has not followed my instructions for how to use the phone with this type of battery - it needs to be used until depleted every single time BEFORE being put back on the charger. They are very forgetful and the phone ends up being on/off the charger multiple times in a single day.I'm buying another battery now, because they are so inexpensive!EDIT: the second battery failed in much less time than the first. We have since upgraded their old cordless phones to new ones.

Won't really know for some time if this is a good battery. All I can say is that the plug matched and the battery is doing the job for now. The OEM battery lasted 5+ years (bedroom phone and not used much at all) so. we'll see.If it lasts 4-5 years I would say it is a good buy.

item is as described. works well and quick delivery not much you can say about a battery. if it works it works if not then you got a problem. this one worked nicely.

I replaced both of my 5-year old GE cordless phone batteries with these and the life went from about 30 minutes to at least 2 hours using a plugged in headset which I've heard uses more power. Not sure how long they can go because I've only had 2 hours constant talk at a time so far.

After phoning local dealers and failing to find what I needed, only assurance that it would cost three to four times more, iif they could match my need; found this and was so pleased to revive my second phone!

The battery arrived ahead of the scheduled arrival time. That was great. In addition, it fit the GE phone model 25839GE3-C just fine. It appears to be working as described. So I'm happy with the results.
