I doubt it would help with a hot glue gun, these are not made of silicone so you would still feel the heat through the rubber.

How do you measure in order to buy the right size

A chart is available online if you search in your browser for "swingline finger tips size chart". Measure around the 1st knuckle of your finger with a tape measure. If you don't have a tape measure, use a string and then measure how much string it took to go around your finger on a straight ruler. Here are the sizes according to the chart that I found: Size Small (11) is a 1.8 inch circumference; Size Medium (11.5) is 2.0 inches; Size Medium-large (12) is 2.2 inches; Size Large (13) is 2.4 inches; Size XL (14) is 2.75 inches. I've used these for a long time and these numbers line up with my experience. I hope this helps you.

How do i figure size?

Size is a bit of a guessing game. These were purchased for a lady who wears a size 6 ring but the small turned out to be a bit snug. The mediums are a little loose but easier to get off/on.

I got the med-large. My mistake, too big. Make sure you get at least 3 different sizes, or the size that works best for you. Product is fine, just needed smaller size. Took to work, someone will be able to use them.
