Awesome product! A++++
I wish I would have bought this sooner! I am a home owner who loves woodworking, and I use my home garage as a workshop. With woodworking comes a lot of saw dust and wood particles. I got tired of dragging out my Ridgid shop vac and vacuuming the saw dust off of the floors, walls, and every surface. So then I bought the vacuum hose attachment for my vacuum to my compound miter saw. This was great at first, but I would end up forgetting to either turn off the vacuum or forget to turn it on while cutting lumber!This got me searching the Internet for solutions and DGC Products I-socket came up over and over again! So, I ordered it plugged it in, and I will never have to worry about my vacuum again. This is how it works:- plug it into 3 prong wall socket or extension cord(IMPORTANT: this is for indoor/covered garage/shop use ONLY, it is NOT waterproof or water resistant)-plug in your saw into the "TOOL" outlet (or whatever tool your using) on the I-socket-plug in your shop vac into the "VAC" outlet on the I-socket-turn the switch on your shop vac to the "ON" position and leave it there-and that's it!When you start or turn on your saw (or whatever tool you are using), the I-socket automatically turns on your shop vac. When you stop or turn off your saw (or whatever tool you are using), the I-socket will keep the shop vac running for about 8 seconds after the saw has stopped to clear any saw dust left behind, then it turns off the shop vac! The I-socket is very well made, it uses thick ABS plastic and all the seems are tightly fitted together.Awesome product, I do recommend it to both professional and hobbyist woodworkers! I do not work for DGC Products, nor do I indorse there products, I am only writing a review off of my personal experience. Also, please, please, please remember SAFETY FIRST when working with electrical outlets, saws, routers, sanders, drills, and other equipment! I can not be held liable for your mistakes!CPS

Astounded by such a small simple item.
I really do not know why it took me so long to purchase this item. I had it in my wish list for a while before I actually purchased a couple of them. What is so crazy is how at my ago you can be so astounded by such a simple item as this I-socket auto switch. All it really is, is a switched delay, but it is awesome and makes life so much easier. Electric tools are just like gasoline. Like a car requires more gas to accelerate than it does to cruise. Tools require more current draw (amps) to power up than they require to run. This switch simply delays a vacuum or another tools startup for a few seconds so that the main tool can start up and run at its normal current draw before the other tool is powered on. This keeps you from drawing to much current from one circuit at the same time, thus no tripped breakers. The only tool in my shop that I did not have my main dust collector hooked up to is the miter. Simply because I brought my miter saw in after I ran all the hoses and fittings for the rest of my tools and I just did not feel like modifying the setup for the miter saw. So I never had any type of dust collection on the miter saw.Anyway so far I love this little i-socket. It has been working great and havent tripped a breaker yet. Even though I have a sub-panel added to my garage workshop and all of the outlets in the garage are 20 amp 120 and 20 amp 240 and they are all on their own circuit. For anyone using a regular old wet dry vac for tool dust collection and are tired of turning the vacuum on and the tool on. Id highly recommend this

Purchased in 2015, Its Now 2025 and it still works like new.
Keep it out of the weather and it will last. This Item seams to be replaced by a new type. Mine still works like New.

Great tool, though the warranty could be better
[Updated from one star to four]This thing has been fantastic.I only used it for about 4 weeks when my vacuum hose clogged, and caused the shop vac to pull extra amperage. This switch just stopped working for the tool at all. The switch smelled vaguely burnt, and I thought it was dead.After a week or so, I gave it one last try before tossing it in the trash. Turns out there was (presumably) a temperature sensor that (helpfully) disabled it during the overrun.I left off a star for the overly sensitive temperature sensor and frustrating 90 day warranty.[Previous Review Below]------------------------------------------------------------It's so great for the handful of days that it works!I bought it six months ago but didn't really start using it on the daily until a few weeks ago. It has essentially gotten about 4 weeks of use at this point.Sadly, my vacuum hose clogged with too much sawdust yesterday and this caused my Rigid shop vac to start drawing a few more amps. The heretofore awesome box no longer provides the magic pixies (aka current).I figured I'd just send it back to DGC for a replacement, seeing as how clogs aren't unusual for dust collectors and shouldn't disable a tool specifically designed for such a purpose. I was supremely disappointed to see a "90 day warranty." Now I just feel like a sucker.The whole ordeal has taken me from the mountaintops of awesome tool elation to the lows that only the saddest of pandas could understand.
